Gas prices have been holding just above $5.00 in parts of Schuylkill County for the past week.
As of Sunday, June 12th, 2022, according to AAA, the average price of gas in Schuylkill County was recorded at $5.06 a gallon. That just a penny shy of Pennsylvania's average of $5.07.
Driving around the county, you'll find that prices in the Pottsville area and southern Schuylkill County are hanging right at $4.99. The further north you go though, you'll find prices above that.
On Sunday, in the borough of Ashland, Turkey Hill was selling regular unleaded at $5.09 a gallon, but at the bottom of town, it's $5.20 a gallon.
Schuylkill County's is still not the highest in Pennsylvania though. In the areas to the Northeast and Southeast, the average is even higher. Pike County is reporting one of the highest averages at $5.21 a gallon, according to AAA.
Sadly, the average price in Pennsylvania one year ago, $3.02 a gallon. Hopefully an end is in sight!
