George Elo
, 94, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Monday, June 27th, in Pottsville.

Born in Saint Clair, on June 2, 1928, he was the son of the late Anna (Marcosky) and John Elo.
George served in the U.S. Marines as a Corporal.

He worked as a machinist for 50 years at Yoder's Machine Shop, and was a member of St. Michael's Russian Orthodox Church in Saint Clair.

In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Helen V. (McGowan) Elo, three sons: George Andrew Elo, Joseph Elo, and Michael Elo, as well as his sisters: Helen Doyle and Mary Elo, and his brother John Elo.

George is survived by his children: James Elo, MaryAnn Hummel, Mark Elo, and Jospeh Jordan, and two sisters: Anna Krotchko and Jean Hoffman. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6th at Geschwindt Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc in Schuylkill Haven with Pastor Kenneth McDowell officiating. A viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery immediately following the service.

Thomas D. George, 74, of Frackville, passed away on Sunday, June 26th, 2022, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa.

Born in Shenandoah on September 29th, 1947, he was the son of the late John and Alberta (Hassler) George.

Thomas was a 1965 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and then went on to work 40 years at A&E Hanger in Ringtown. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Frackville. He was sports fan, having rooted for the Yankees, the Red Sox, the Phillies, and Cowboys. Thomas was a kind, gentle, and loving man who enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved his Basset Hound – Gus.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John George and 2 nephews, John & Chris George.

He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Sharon (Tutko) George, 3 sons, Scott George with Dawn – Frackville, Thomas A. George with Sherry – Frackville, and Craig George with Jenna – Brockton. 11 grandchildren; Austin, Brayden, Gabriella, Gemma, Storm, Zane, River, Lilee, Devlin, Tyler, and Brandon, along with several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, July 5th from 9 to 11am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah with Scripture Service held at 11am by Pastor Carl Shankweiler. Private burial will follow services in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
