Charles E "PeeWee" Miller
,age 87, of Valley View, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Penn State Milton S Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.

He was born on Friday, November 2, 1934, in Hegins, a son of the late William Miller and the late Matie (Harner) Miller.

PeeWee served in the US Army.

He worked in area coal mines and was last employed at the former Bush Coal Company, Good Spring.

He was a member of VFW Post 2385, Gratz, American Legion Post 575, Valley View, and the Valley View Gun Club.

He is survived by two daughters, Christine M Wiest of Millersburg and Carol A Forney and her husband John of Elizabethville; two sons, Michael E Miller of Hegins and Adam E Miller of Valley View; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a sister, Janet Miller of Tremont; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with Rev. Raymond Holland, III, officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial with Military Honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Gertrude F. Shpakovsky, 85, a lifelong resident of Frackville, went home to be with her risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday evening at her residence with her family by her side.

Born in Frackville, May 7, 1937, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna Bowen Blackwell. She was a graduate of Frackville High School, class of 1955.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Lavelle. She was active in many of the church functions.

Gertrude was a homemaker, her greatest joy was raising her family of four children. Being attentive to all their needs and supported all their endeavors. She loves her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son-in-law Frank A. Mack; a sister; Nancy Blackwell and brother; Bob Blackwell.

Gertrude is survived by her husband of 65 years John Shpakovsky, Frackville; daughter, Tammy Sausser and husband Randy; son, John Shpakovsky and wife Susan, Cressona; son, Michael Shpakovsky and wife Christine, Frackville and daughter Lori Mack, Frackville; grandchildren; Derrick (Jacqueline) Mack, Briana (Allen) Yordy; Katie, Olivia and Sophia Shpakovsky; Moriah, Megan and Morgan Shpakovsky; Randy, Jr. and Tiana Sausser; great-grandchildren; Teagan, Magnolia and Autumn Yordy; nieces and nephews.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Frackville.
