Janice I. Vance, 73, of Tremont, passed away Monday afternoon, July 25, 2022 at her home.

Born in Pottsville, March 19, 1949, a daughter of the late James and Alma Zimmerman Butler. Janice attended Tremont High School and graduated from McCann Business School.

She had worked at Behm's Restaurant, a seamstress in the garment factory and retired from Midway Supermarket.

She previously attended St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Tremont.

Janice enjoyed baking, cooking, and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Vance, July 27, 2020 and a brother Michael Butler.

Surviving are her four daughters; Julie Witmer (Daryl), Tremont, Stacy Wolfe (George) Muir, Amy Frew (Scott), Tremont and Tammy Richard (Russell), Valley View, step children; Cory Vance, Pottsville, Philip and Tom Vance, both of Lebanon, and Tammy Castandea, Louisiana, a sister, Faye Seager, Tremont. Seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 4 pm from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., Tower City. Visitation will be from 3-4 at the chapel. Private burial will take place in the Donaldson Community Cemetery.

Helen R. Greenwalt, 94, of Shenandoah, passed away on Monday, July 25th, 2022, at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community.

Born in Shenandoah on May 10th, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Helen Robel.

Helen worked in the local garment industry for many years and was a member of the ILGWU. She was devoted to her catholic faith and was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church. Helen sang on the choir and was involved in many of the church’s activities. In the more recent years, she loved spending time on her IPAD. Above all else, Helen was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, preceding her in death was her husband, Fred W. Greenwalt in 2003, 2 brothers, John and Albert Robel, and 2 sisters, Irene Souchuck and Bernie Walsh.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Diane Ford with her husband Tom – Lancaster, and Donna Mulkusky with her husband Robert – Milton. 3 grandchildren, Michael Ford with Annie, Douglas Ford with Gina, and Bryan Mulkusky with Heather. 6 great-grandchildren, Lillian Helen Ford, Alexandra Rose Ford, James Thomas Ford, Nella Marie Ford, Thomas Everett Ford, and Marabelle Elise Ford, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Arrangements are at the convenience of the family.

Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah are entrusted with arrangements.
