Michael J. Bacha, Jr.
, 68, of Frackville, PA, passed away Thursday, August 25th, at Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital, Orwigsburg.

Michael was born in Mahanoy City, PA on March 16, 1954, a son of the late Dorothy (Zulkowski) and Michael Bacha.

He had graduated from Mahanoy Area High School, class of 1972.

Mike worked at Cressona Trucking for many years.

He loved to cook, and paint and really enjoyed reading.

He was the husband of Margaret (Mickel) Bacha.

Mike is also survived by a daughter, Siohban Bacha, partner Sam Grim, of Mechanicsburg, a sister, Theresa, husband of Ray Seiger, of Pottsville, a brother, Stephen, husband of Eileen Bacha, of Ashland, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service at Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. , Mahanoy City, PA, at 11 am on Tuesday, August 30th, with Deacon Dave Henninger officiating.

Friends and family may call Tuesday from 9 to 11 am at the Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home & Crematory Inc.

Family prefers donations be made to the Hillside SPCA.

Ronald R. Smith
, 89 of Frackville formerly of Shenandoah passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Born in Mahanoy City on December 24, 1932, he was a son of the late James Smith, Sr. and Alice (Thomas) Smith.

He was a graduate of the former Mahanoy City High School.

Mr. Smith was a decorated Army veteran having served his country in the Korean War. He received the Army of Occupation Medal with the German clasp, the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a press operator for the former Dana Corporation, Reading.

Ronnie was a member of the former Primitive Methodist Church, Shenandoah. He was an avid reader and was a very active member of the former Shenandoah Amvets Post.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife, Nadine (Oliver) Smith in 1987, his step-son, Thomas J. “Buddy” Bachike in 2020; granddaughter, Christina M. “Tina” (Bachike) Sass in 2017; brother, James Smith, Sr.; sister, Alice Capiga and nephew, John Capiga.

Surviving are his daughter-in-law and caregiver, Mary Lou Bachike of Frackville; great-grandson, Joseph “JJ” Sass and his wife Cristina and great great-grandson, George Kingston Sass all of Naples, FL; niece, Karen Schropp; two nephews, James Capiga and James Smith, Jr.; three great-nephews, John Schropp, Dave Smith and James “Butch” Smith; great-niece, Allison Loosli; cousins and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 11:00 am at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah with Rev. Julian Milewski officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A viewing will be held on Tuesday morning from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements.

William D. Miller, III, age 70, of Valley View, passed away Friday, August 26, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest, Allentown.

Funeral arrangements are pending.

Edward James Nale
, 75, of Ringtown, passed away Thursday, August 25th, 2022 at his residence.

Ed was born in Altoona on February 21, 1947, a son of the late Vivian (Logan) and Paul Nale.

After high school, he joined the Unites States Navy, serving two tours in Vietnam. He was stationed aboard the USS Intrepid, earning the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with one campaign star, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Navy Commendation Ribbon. Ed was proud to be a member if the USS Intrepid Former Crew Members Association.

He had a passion for hunting, fishing and camping. Prior to his passing, he worked for United Metals, the Dutch Kitchen, and Berger and Sons HVAC.

Ed was preceded in death by brothers George and Raymond Nale, a sister Judy Wise and a step son, Craig Wise.

Ed is survived by his best friend, and ex-spouse, Tina Nale, along with sisters Vivian Burley of Virginia; Pat Carlheim and Deb Fleck, both of Altoona; Paula Sprow, Florida; and Cindy Baker of Harrisburg.

Also surviving are step-sons, Mark Wise and his wife Mary Agnes of Pottsville and Steven Wise with his companion Patricia Strong of Mississippi. Grandchildren, Samantha Wise, Darian Wise and Dennis Wise, a great granddaughter, Violet Wise along with nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a daughter, Mechele Albright of Allentown, and his best friend of over 60 years, Jim Moyer of Altoona.

Ed will be laid to rest at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, following private family services which will be provided by the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, Inc., Ringtown.
