Edwin Paul Randig
, 90 years of age, a longtime Tamaqua businessman passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at St. Luke's University Hospital Bethlehem.

Born Friday, April 29,1932 in Butler, Pennsylvania the son of the late Paul and Pearl (Easley) Randig. Paul was also predeceased by sisters, Jane Connell, Patricia Taggart; step sons, Billy and Bruce Johnson.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 36 years, Marlene (Kershner) Johnson - Randig; sons, Edwin K. Randig and his wife Alyssa, Alex Kristof; step-daughter Michele Randall, wife of William; step-son Ricky Johnson and his wife Rosanne; daughter-in-law Diane Johnson, brothers, Joseph Randig and his wife Linda, Ric Randig and his wife Eileen; sisters, Mary Ellen Edinger and Martha Simm, wife of Bob; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A 1950 graduate of Butler High School, Paul served honorably in the United States Army, and attended Penn State University. He worked as a salesman for Harold Stephens Food Service for many years, and then joined Marlene in operating Vogue Cleaners on Mauch Chunk Street in Tamaqua for over 20 years. A member of St. John U.C.C. of Tamaqua, Paul spent many years sharing his gift of music in the church choir. He was also an active Member of the Masonic Blue Lodge, Tamaqua/Mahanoy City Lodge No. 238 F&AM. He also held memberships in the Bloomsburg Consistory, RAJAH Temple of Reading, and Knights Templar. Paul was also active in the Tamaqua American Legion, Elks Lodge and White birch Golf league.

Susan Felker (“Sue”)
, age 99 of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away on August 27, 2022, after a long and happy life. She loved her family, her many friends, her church, and life itself. Born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, Sue enjoyed going to the Poconos and traveling. She moved to Florida in 1984 and never wanted to move back north. She enjoyed many hobbies over the years including crocheting bedroom slippers, “diamond” painting, coloring, and water aerobics with the girls at the pool. Going to lunch with friends was one of her favorite activities.

Born March 7, 1923, her parents came from Czechoslovakia in 1907. She was one of four children born to Maria Kochan and Augusta Ausembrier. Her two brothers, Paul Ashembrier Sr. and Paul Asember, and her sister Mary Wanchick are deceased. Susan attended local schools and worked for Phillips Van Heusen as a dressmaker.

Susan was preceded in death by her husband Harry Felker of Port Charlotte her first husband, Woodrow Wilson Dunheimer. She was very proud that both Harry and “Woody” served their country in World War II. Her love and kindness touched the lives of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and many friends.

She is survived by her daughter Carol Scarborough (John), nieces MaryEllen Meagher, Susan Kraft (Ken), Elaine Zampella (Tony), Daryl Williams (Pat), Carol Ann Imschweiler, and Suzie Frank (Tom). She is also survived by her grandchildren Jennifer Yorke (Tom) and Jeffrey (Amanda), plus great-grandchildren Aiden, Ava, Brenden, Charles, David, Emme, Hannah, Ivan, James, Kyleigh, Kelcie, and Peter. She also has several loving grandnieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 am Tuesday, September 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 Arch Street, Pottsville. A Celebration of Life Funeral service will follow at 11 am. Memorial services will be at a later date in Florida. The family requests memorial donations to be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Pottsville PA, or Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2565 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL 33952, or the American Cancer Society.

Karen M. Merva, 59, of Mahanoy City, formerly of Buck Run, passed away Sunday, August 28th, at Ridgeview Healthcare & Rehab, Shenandoah Heights. 

Karen was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on November 21, 1962, a daughter of the late RoseMarie (Murphy) and Vincent Fergel, Sr. She was the wife of Francis Leonard Merva III. She was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve Officer Training Corp. She was a graduate of Penn State University. She was a truck driver for many years employed by Swift Trucking . 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a Brother, Vincent Fergel Jr. 

Karen is survived by her husband, Francis L. Merva, a daughter, Katherine Fergel, a son, Alex Merva and her grandson Connor Fergel. Karen is also survived by a brother, Paul Fergel. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Tuesday, September 6 at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, 600 W Mahanoy St, Mahanoy City. There are no calling hours.

Dustin James Baker
, 23, of Girardville, PA, passed away Sunday, August 28th, at his residence.

Dustin was born in Hazleton, on October 22, 1998, a beloved son of Jodie (Kline) Baker of Girardville and Charles Kenner of Hazleton.

He graduated from Hazleton Area High School, class of 2018.

Dustin was a young man who loved video games and hanging out with his friends. Dustin also loved music. Dustin may have been very quiet and reserved but to his friends and family who knew him best, knew how comical and at times how serious he could be. Dustin was always a very kind, thoughtful and outgoing person, always willing to do anything to help those in need that he cared strongly for. He will surely be missed by all the lives he touched.

Dustin is survived by his mother and father, siblings, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins both paternal and maternal. As well as his Very close friends Christian Filoreto, Michael Rose, and Brandon Baker

He was preceded in death by a brother Eric Baker. Grandmother (maternal) Joanne Hassle, as well as Uncles Mark, Rick, Steven, and Brian Kline (maternal side)
