Manuel J. "Manny" Filloy, Jr.
, 55 of Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania died on Thursday, September 8, 2022.

Born Monday, June 6, 1967 in Coaldale the son of Ethel Lee (Nelson) Filloy of Weatherly, and the late Manuel J. Filloy, Sr.

In addition to his mother he is survived by; sister, Megan Cannon wife of Craig; brother, Rob Filloy and his wife Lisa of Tamaqua; nephews, Derek, Zachary, and Nathan Filloy; niece, Raigan Cannon.

A 1986 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School. A Patriot at heart, Manny served honorably in the United States Marines for over 4 years. His devotion to our country was one born by way of his heritage, for his father, and nephew also served our country proudly. Manny worked for Air Products & Chemicals in their Hometown plant for 20 plus years. Manny had served as a first responder with a number of local fire companies, and rescue squads. Manny enjoyed golfing, and belonged to the Nesquehoning V.F.W Post 8008. A devoted Phillies and Dallas Cowboy Fan, Manny kept is mother aware of upcoming games. His keen sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Michael Joseph Sfarra
, 49, of West Penn Township, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

Michael was a kind, caring, and loving son, brother, and uncle. He was the valedictorian of his 1991 graduating class at Tamaqua Area High School. Michael went on to attend Lehigh University, graduating with high honors. He enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, gardening, and hiking. Michael had a love for all animals, especially his Jack Russell Terrier, Ollie. He was an excellent cook and a talented musician who played several types of instruments. Michael always will be remembered for having a generous heart and for his willingness to help anyone out whenever needed.

Michael will be forever missed by all of those who were lucky enough to have been a part of his life. He was a member of St. John XXIII Roman Catholic Church in Tamaqua.

Michael is survived by his parents, Emilio and Alberta (Catrambone) Sfarra; sisters Julia, Susan (Shail Maingi), and Jennifer Sfarra; nephews Dakota Tempest and family and Kiowa Tempest; and niece Cherokee Tempest.

Mary M. Venusti, 75, of Shenandoah, passed away on September 8th, 2022, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Redford, Michigan, and raised in Bronx, New York, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Gloria Zbyradowski. She was a member of Divine Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Shenandoah. Mary graduated from St. Helena’s Business School in the Bronx and later worked for Pitney Bowes Corporation in New York City for 17 years. She then worked many years in Shenandoah in home health care.

She enjoyed the outdoors, loved going to broadway shows and taking trips to the casino. Mary was a member of the Ladies Auxilliary of the Frackville American Legion Post 398, and a member of the Women of the Moose.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by sisters, Carol Ann and Theresa.

Mary is survived by her husband of 40 years, John Venusti, a brother, Steve Zbyradowski with his wife Ann of Shenandoah, a sister, Helen Ferranti with her husband Mike of Shenandoah Heights. She is also survived by a niece, Jennifer, and nephews, Jason, Steve Jr., and Joshua. 2 great-nieces, Harper and Lacy, and brother-in-law, Thomas Venusti.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, September 14th from 8am to 9:30am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am in Divine Mercy Parish – Sacred Worship Site – St. Casimir’s, 229 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah with Msgr. Ronald Bocian officiating. Burial will follow in the Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
