Schuylkill County 6-Year-Old Competing in Pennsylvania Farm Show National Anthem Contest

Schuylkill County is in the running again for a young vocalist to sing the National Anthem at the Pennsylvania Farm Show.

For the 8 days at the Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg, someone is chosen to sing the National Anthem to open the day's events.

They don't just pick anyone though.  Each year, those interested can submit their videos of themselves singing, then 20 finalists are chosen.  Those finalists are then voted by the public online.

Out of all the entries submitted this year, Mia Bixler, 6, of Schuylkill County has been chose as a finalist.

Mia is a first grader at Blue Mountain Elementary and the daughter of Mark and Mandy Bixler. She is also a member of the Spotlight Kidz.

Mia needs Schuylkill County vote and here is how you can help.

Follow the link below to a post on the Pennsylvania Farm Show's Facebook page and check out the comments.  There is a comment for Mia's video and simply "like" her comment.  Out of the 20 finalists, only 12 will get to sing at the event.

Schuylkill County's Kalli Smith won the contest last year.  Can we make it 2 for 2?

The Pennsylvania Farm Show is scheduled to run from January 7th, 2022 to January 14th, 2022.
