Sarah A. Kinzey, 88, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 10th at the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown.

Born in Johnstown, on May 13, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Fred H. and Mildred H. (Ditchett) Martz.

She was a graduate of Greater Johnstown High School, Johnstown, and a member of Pennside Presbyterian, Reading.

Sarah was the church secretary at Pennside Presbyterian for over 10 years and then worked at Brossman Builders with her husband from 1985-1998.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Flying Dutchman Ski Club, and the Red Hat Society. Sarah was very active in outdoor activities, which included skiing and motorcycle riding and traveling .

In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Brossman, in 2017, and to whom she was married 13 years.

Sarah is survived by two sons Douglas J. Kinzey, husband of Randi Baker; and Curtis Kinzey; grandchildren: Alex B. Kinzey, husband of Kristin Kissel; Evan B. Kinzey, husband of Katherine DeCrescenzo Kinzey; and Andrea Kinzey.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 21st , at 11:00 a.m. at the Sell Chapel at the Masonic Village, 581 Freemason Dr., Elizabethtown. A visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service in the Chapel.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Dorothy Ann Miller, 88, of Branchdale, Reilly Township, passed away on Thursday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born on October 13, 1934, in Red Lake, Minnesota. She was the last of the thirteen children of the late John and Agnes (nee Zimmerman) Pitzel. She worked as Supervisor of the Composition Department of International Computaprint Corporation (ICC) for over 20 years.

Dorothy is survived by five daughters, Ann Davis (spouse, William, Jr.), Duluth, GA, Christine Stouffer (spouse, Thomas), Dillsburg, Kimberly Miller, Shickshinny, Donna McKee, Tamaqua, and Valerie Reynolds (spouse, Patrick), Branchdale; eight grandchildren, William Davis III (spouse, Janette) and Thomas Davis (spouse Katie), Jesse Minium (spouse, Emily) and Theron Minium (spouse, Jessica), Joseph Quintana (spouse, Jess), Shannon Mills, Dana Mills-Homsher, and Zachary Reynolds; ten great grandchildren, with one expected; nieces and nephews.

The family will accept visitors at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville, on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M.

Rita Ruscavage, 90, of Minersville, passed away on Saturday at home in the presence of her family.

Born in Pottsville on June 25, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Mary (nee Schultz) Schafer. She attended Pottsville schools and worked in the local garment industry. She also owned a small catering service, which she operated from the kitchen in her home.

She was a member of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church, Minersville. She was also a member of the ILGWU.

Rita was a wonderful cook and enjoyed the company of her grandchildren. She found great joy in maintaining her garden and watching neighborhood birds enjoying the fruits of her labor. She was also fond of the peaceful atmosphere of cabin life in Sullivan County.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Charles “Rusty” Ruscavage, in 2002; five siblings, Melvin Schafer, Georgine Motley, Lois Pangonis, Carl Schafer and Harold R. Schafer.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl Smith (spouse, Richard), Sierra Vista, Arizona, Andrea Bowerman (spouse, William), West Grove, Charles Ruscavage III (spouse, Susan), Tolland, Connecticut, Pamela Slane (spouse, Kerry), Chesapeake, Virginia, Gayle Markowski (spouse, Michael), Saylorsburg and Andrew Ruscavage (spouse, Lori), Cressona; seven grandchildren, Richard, Eric, Pamela, Joshua, Courtney, Kimberly and Michael (spouse, Amanda); eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her remaining brothers, Bruce Schafer, Schuylkill Haven, and Ronald “Skip” Schafer, Seltzer; nieces and nephews.

The family will accept visitors at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville, on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until services at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Branch Township. The family prefers donations to the Camp Papillon Animal Shelter, 128 Brainerd Lane, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 or by visiting their website at www.camppapillon.org.

Jean (Haspe) Huffman, 65, of Coaldale, passed away Friday evening at her home.

Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home Inc-Shawn E. Clark FD, 901 Centre St, Ashland PA has been entrusted with arrangements.

Virginia C. McClelland
, 83 of Pottsville passed away Saturday while a resident of The Gardens at York Terrace Nursing Home.

Born in Emeigh, PA July 16, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Ellen Rummel Hill.

Virginia was a graduate of Northern Cambria High School.

She was most recently a member of The First United Methodist Church in Schuylkill Haven. Virginia had a passion for cooking and baking and even considered becoming a chef at one point in her life.

In addition to her parents Virginia is preceded in death by her son Dennis who passed away in 2015 along with her siblings Berniece Patrick and Robert Hill.

Virginia is survived by her sons, Thomas Jr. husband to Cindy of Pottsville, Jamie husband to Kim of Statesville, NC, and Kip husband to Debbie of Marlin. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven. Family and friends are welcome from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Interment will follow on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park.

Margaret L. Sweeney, North Centre Street, Frackville, passed away Saturday, December17, 2022, at her residence.
