Paul F. Raggio
, 93 years of age, of Lansdale, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Elm Terrace Gardens in Lansdale, Pennsylvania.

Born Thursday, February 7, 1929 in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania the son of the late Frank, and Rose (Fucci) Raggio. Paul was also predeceased by his brother, Joseph C. Raggio on May 15, 2014.

Surviving are; sister-in-law Dorothy Raggio; niece Dorothy M. Sassaman and her husband Ronald, and their son Hunter; longtime friend, Michael Bobbie.

A 1946 graduate of Tamaqua High School, Paul served honorably in the United States Navy. A graduate of University of Pennsylvania Wharton School, Paul worked as Sales Manager for Santa Fe Railroad for over 28 years retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Traffic Club's of Philadelphia, and Camden NJ. A devoted member of Corpus Christi R.C.C. of Lansdale, Paul was also an avid reader. Paul was a talented cook, and baker who enjoyed sharing his creations with friends, and neighbors.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday December 12, 2022 at 10 o'clock A.M. from Corpus Christi R.C.C. 900 Sumneytown Pike Lansdale, Pennsylvania 19446. Military honors to be bestowed.

Interment will be in St. Jerome R.C.C., Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.

Lucille Futyma
, 74, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away peacefully at her home Monday, December 5th, surrounded by her family

Lucille was born in Mahanoy City, PA on September 1, 1948, a daughter of the late Aldona (Krasnisky) and George Lahutsky.

She was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church Mahanoy City.

She graduated from Mahanoy Area High School class of 1966

She was wife of the late August “Gus” Futyma.

Lucille is survived by a son, Francis Collins, of Ridley Park; a sister, Sheree, wife of Thomas Bashinsky, of Barnesville, a brother, George Lahutsky, of San Diego; stepchildren Gussie Futyma, Ann Futyma, Eric Futyma, and Christina Futyma McDermott; one niece Lori McCabe; step grandsons Doug Birrer, Gus Futyma , Peter Futyma, and Shane Santell; and several step great grandchildren and 2 great grand nephews.

Lucille trained as a laboratory technician at Polyclinic Hospital in Harrisburg. After completing her training, she worked in St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem. Several years later she worked in Ashland State Hospital in the hematology and histology departments. Before retiring, Lucille worked for the Department of Agriculture as laboratory technician in the histology department. Lucille was very active in her local chapter of AFSCME while working in Ashland and served as president for a period of time.

Lucille was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, stepmother, aunt and sister. She loved traveling with her husband, Gus, in his Ford Mustang. She also loved spending time with her family and close friends. Lucille especially treasured her time with her great granddaughter, Kayla Birrer. Lucille will be deeply missed by all. Some of Lucille’s favorite things included crocheting, listening to 60’s music and watching old TV shows and movies.

Office of Christian Burial and Divine Liturgy at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Mahanoy City, at 11 AM on Friday, December 9th, with Rev. James Carroll officiating.

Friends may call Thursday 6 to 8 PM and Friday 9 AM at the Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home & Crematory Inc.

Interment at National Cemetery Fort Indiantown Gap Annville, PA.

Jane C. Deibert
, 94, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Monday, December 5th, at home.

Born in Schuylkill Haven on December 20, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Alma (Yeich) and Willis Deibert.

Jane graduated from Schuylkill Haven High School. After graduation, she began her career with the Schuylkill Haven Trust Co. where she started as a teller and worked her way up to manager of all three branches while serving as the Board President.

She was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven and was very involved as the treasurer and a part of the choir, while also serving on the Board of Directors.

Jane is survived by her God daughter, Stephanie Foose and her children, Andrew Spencer, Tayron Campbell, Blaze Wagner, Xena-Jane Spencer, Jamil Pace Jr., and Elizabeth Pace.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 13th at Geschwindt Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc in Schuylkill Haven, with Pastor Brian Reading officiating. A viewing will be held for family and friends from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the funeral home.

Interment will take place at Jerusalem Cemetery.

Robert C. Arner, 43 years of age, of Binghamton, New York died on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at home.

Born Sunday, September 16, 1979 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania he is survived by; his mother, Bertha A. Arner; loving wife Theresa A. (Walker) Arner; Uncle Charles Arner and his wife Barbara.

A Tamaqua Area High School graduate, Bobby enjoyed gaming, watching movies, and reading. Bobby was a tender sole, he took the time to listen to people, and was sympathetic to their problems, yet he knew how to make one laugh while instilling some advice. He loved his two fur babies, Milenko, and Onyx.

Penny A. Zeigler
, beloved wife, daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother, of New Ringgold, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 4, 2022, surrounded by her family at Advent Hospital in Celebration, Florida after having fought an almost three-year courageous battle against Cholangiocarcinoma. Penny was 62 years of age.

Penny is survived by; her husband, and best friend of 42 years, David W. Zeigler; mother, Janice (Steigerwalt) Jech; son, Brandon D. Zeigler; daughters, Erika L. Zeigler and her husband Jose Cordero, Rebekka A. "Bekki" Zeigler; sisters, Kim Harrower wife of Glenn, Carol Groner wife of Vernon; grandchild, Jasi Cordero. Penny loved animals and will be greatly missed by her pets Autumn, Baghera, Lily, Rosi, and Bella, who she loved and were also family to her.

She was predeceased by her father, Roland Miller and his wife Carol as well as her stepfather, Joseph Jech.

A 1978 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, Penny was a member of Ben Salem Church of Lehighton. She retired from the Walgreens Warehouse in Bethlehem having worked there 16 years. She and David owned and operated EZ Market for more than 10 years. Penny was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother. She loved all things Disney, and was determined to visit there one last time, taking ill on her final pilgrimage. Penny and David enjoyed camping . She was also an avid reader and gardener.

Mary Christine "Chrissy" DaPrato
passed away at Miner's Memorial Medical Center on Sunday December 4, 2022. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Joseph John Paul DaPrato with whom she shared 48 years of marriage.

Born in Pottsville in the Warren hospital Clinic, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Catherine (Kern) Kopla. She was a 1968 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and was proud to have attended a one-room schoolhouse in the Lewistown Valley during grade school. She was also a proud member of the famed Tamaqua Girls Drum and Bugle Corps.

Chrissy matriculated to the Harrisburg Pennsylvania College of Medical Arts earning her Registered Nursing degree. Chrissy, trained in Harrisburg Hospital, the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, and Camp Hill Polyclinic Hospital in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.

She worked as a surgical nurse in the operating room at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hazleton.

After marrying her husband in 1974, she worked and co-managed with her husband their family's neighborhood market, The East End Market which opened in 1948, and she and Joe ran until retiring in 2014.

Chrissy attended the joint UCC and Lutheran Church where she taught both Sunday School and Bible School while singing in the church choir. She was also an active member of St. John Slovak Lutheran Church of Lansford where she belonged to the Ladies Aid of the church.

For many years through the Tamaqua Elks, Chrissy organized and was credited with taking the veterans from the V A Hospital in Wilkes-Barre to the Red Barrons baseball games.

A very dedicated wife and homemaker, Chrissy enjoyed cooking, and was an avid reader. Chrissy and Joe loved to travel, taking many special trips together.

Chrissy is survived by; her husband, Joseph John Paul DaPrato; brother, Paul Jon Kopla and his wife Theresa of Valparaiso, Indiana; niece, Dr. Ashley Ann Kopla also of Indiana.

A special thanks to her caregiver and friend, Samantha Gibbons.
