BOYS BASKETBALL: North Schuylkill Outlasts Blue Mountain

In a game that could determine the layout of the boys Schuylkill League and District XI basketball playoffs, North Schuylkill and Blue Mountain left everything they had on the court on Friday night.

Both teams entered Friday's league game with an 7-1 record vying for the number seed in the Division I Schuylkill League Playoffs in February.  This was also a redemption game for the Spartans with that one league loss coming from Blue Mountain earlier this season.

Even through the 9th Grade and Junior Varsity games that were prior to Varsity, the energy and heart of both teams were on display.

Right from the tipoff and through the first quarter, the Eagles took a 17-13 leading heading into 2nd.  Blue Mountain's 3-Point game was on point nailing four 3-pointers in the first quarter alone.

North Schuylkill's game turned around in the second quarter when their relentless defense continued their pressure and took advantage on rebounds.

At the half, the Spartans lead 34-31.

North Schuylkill was able to hold the lead through the 3rd quarter with Blue Mountain following not far behind.

It wasn't until the fourth when the Spartans pulled away even further winning the game 74-56.
