Jean Elizabeth Swartz, 92, a life-long resident of Reynolds, PA, died on Thursday, February 2, 2023, in Drums, PA. She was the wife of the late John N. Swartz, Jr. who died in 1977. 

Born in Reynolds on June 26, 1930, Jean was a daughter of the late Quillie and Anne (Reichelderfer) Reed. A 1948 graduate of Tamaqua High School, she worked on the cap line at the former Atlas Powder Company and retired from the West Penn Elementary School where she managed the cafeteria. Jean was a member of Zion’s Stone Church of West Penn Township, a member and past president of the West Penn Lioness Club, and a former member of the Pocahontas Lodge of Clamtown. She loved to bake, bird watch, and especially spend time with her grandson and great grandchildren. 

Jean is survived by daughter, Susan Bonner and her husband Thomas of West Penn; son, John Swartz, III of Reynolds; grandson, Joseph DiGirolamo and his wife Lacey of Dimock, PA; and great grandchildren, Kinsley and Henry.

She was also predeceased by sisters, Verna Edmonds, Ida Edmonds, Ethel Boriacius, and Edith Powers and brother, Sam Powers. 

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jean’s name may be made to Zion’s Stone Church of West Penn Township, 45 Cemetery Rd, New Ringgold, PA 17960. 

Arrangements are being handled by the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Tamaqua.

Dorothy Marie Robb (Nee: Raibeck)
, 81, of Saint Petersburg Florida, left this world peacefully on February 1, 2023, surrounded by family.

Born and raised in Shenandoah PA, she spent many years in Burlington NJ where she lovingly raised her family. A 1959 Graduate of Shenandoah Catholic High School, she began her lifelong clerical career at Bell Telephone in Trenton NJ and retired as a switchboard operator at Pottsville Hospital in 2010. She attended Burlington County College in Pemberton New Jersey in the evenings in the 1970’s while holding down a full-time job and raising four children on her own. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, cooking Polish food, and making holidays special. She was a lifelong member of the former St. Casimir’s parish in Shenandoah PA, where she also attended grade school.

She was preceded by her beloved husband Bill, her parents Joseph and Anna Raibeck, and brother Charles Raibeck. Survived by three daughters Lisa DeLuca of Delran NJ, Sherri Rada (Bill Cook) of Lavelle PA, Paulette Myers (Mike) of Burlington NJ, son Jeff Rada (Tony Rosado) of Saint Petersburg FL, brother Joseph Raibeck of Spring Hill FL, brother Bill Raibeck (Mary) of Frackville PA, seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 7th from 8 to 10am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, Shenandoah. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am in Divine Mercy Parish, 218 W. Cherry St, Shenandoah and will be officiated by Msgr. Ronald Bocian. Interment will immediately follow in the Citizens Cemetery, Lavelle, Pa.
