Janet A. Mimm, 91, of Orwigsburg, formerly of Rausch's Road, New Ringgold, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 9th, with her family by her side.

Janet was born in Schuylkill Haven on January 11, 1932, a daughter of the late Sadie (Hoffman) and John A. Deatrich.

Janet was the widow of William (Bill) F. Mimm.

She graduated from Pottsville High School, Class of 1949. Janet attended PA Bankers Association Central Atlantic School of Banking at Bucknell University and also attended Penn State Schuylkill Campus. She was a member of Christ Church, McKeansburg.

Janet began as a teller and retired as Vice President in the banking industry, beginning at the First National Bank of Orwigsburg which then merged and became Pennsylvania National Bank in 1962 where she worked for 45 years. Janet retired in 1997. She also was the Manager of Auburn Bank from 1981 until 1983, at which point she returned to Orwigsburg before retirement.

She had years in an Acapella Choir; in her senior year participating in district chorus and all state chorus. She was a drum major of the band, in Queens Court, and in the senior play. During W.W. II she was a junior air raid warden. Janet had four brothers serving in the service. She was also a lifeguard at Willow Lake.

Janet was active in Hawk Mountain Boy Scouts of America and the United Way of the Orwigsburg Area. She was also a board member and treasurer of the Orwigsburg Library. She was one of the original organizers of the Orwigsburg Business Association and also a board member of the Eagle Foundation of Blue Mountain High School. Janet was a previous charter member of Little Schuylkill Lionettes in which she was instrumental in forming.

Janet is survived by a daughter, Susan Mimm Hogue of La Jolla, CA and a son, Lee Mimm and his wife Peggy of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren Julie George and her husband Owen; Ann Evans and her husband Brian; Jeffrey Mimm and his wife Jinny, six great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews

She is predeceased by brothers Earl, Harrison, Edward, Robert and George Deatrich and sisters Lillian, Gladys McLaughlin, Dorothy Smith and Mary Eichenberg.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Orwigsburg on Sunday, March 12 at 6:30 PM, with Rev. Michael Petresky officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30 until the time of service.

The family would greatly appreciate if contributions would be made to Orwigsburg Area Free Public Library, for children's books. Donation can be sent to 216 West Independence Street, Orwigsburg, PA 17961.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

David Myles Clark
, husband, father, brother, pappy, 85 years of age, of West Phillips Street Coaldale, Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023 as a guest of Orwigsburg Center.

Born Thursday, December 16, 1937 in Philadelphia the son of the late Andrew, and Lena Clark. David was also predeceased by; brothers, Andrew. James, Frederick, and William Clark; sister, LeeAnn Tittle.

Surviving are; his wife 59 years, Alice Margaret (Filler) Clark; son, David M. Clark of Philadelphia; daughter, Laura L. Christman wife of Dennis of Coaldale; sister, Theresa Tassogloy; grandchildren, Ashley Heatter and her husband Joe, Justin Christman and his wife Kaitlyn; great grandchildren, Emmett Heatter, and Fynley Christman.

David served honorably in the United States Army, and worked as a DryWall finisher for J&L Drywall for many years. David enjoyed watching old war movies, scratch off lottery tickets, visiting the casino. Dave was an ardent Philadelphia Eagles, and Phillies fan.

Funeral Service will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday March 15, 2023 at 11 O'clock A.M. Friends may call from 9:30 A.M. until time of services. Rev. Cindy White to officiate.

Interment with Military Honors to be bestowed will be in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.

Margaret K. "Peggy" Lucas
, 71, of Williamstown passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the Hershey Medical Center.

Born in Pottsville, July 20, 1951, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary McNamara Bettinger. Peggy was a 1969 graduate from Williams Valley High School. She was a retired registered nurse and devoted Catholic.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Bettinger, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of over 50 years Allen R. Lucas, Jr., one son, Jason; two daughters, Olivia (companion Gerald Streets, M.D.), and Lauren (Scott) Hay. She is also survived by six grandchildren and one great granddaughter, all of whom she adored; her siblings, Mary Ellen Pastorkovich, Beth Stagdon, Pat Bettinger, Sr. (Carolyn), Roseann Walters (Paul), Thom Bettinger (Bill Walter), and Leo Bettinger (Donna), numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 10:30 AM From Our Lady Help of Christian Church in Lykens with Rev. Michael Opoki, AJ, as celebrant. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 AM at the church. Immediately following mass, a luncheon and time of fellowship will be held at the Williamstown American Legion. Peggy will be laid to rest privately at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the American Legion Post 239, 123 W Market St, Williamstown, PA 17098.

Rita Boylan, 79, former Locustdale resident, passed away March 4, 2023, at the Mountain View Nursing Center, Coal Township. Born in the former Ashland State General Hospital, Fountain Springs, she was the daughter of William and Rita Schneider Boylan. She was a graduate of Hatboro-Horsham High School, class of 1961, and the McCann School of Business, Mahanoy City, class of 1984, earning an Associate Degree in Business. After graduation, Rita worked as a teller at area banks, and lastly as a postmistress at the Locustdale Post Office until her retirement. Rita was of the Catholic faith. Preceding her in death was a brother, William J. Boylan, passing in 2021.
