Gertrude J. Drum
, 97, of Harrisburg, formerly of Tower City, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

Born in Tower City, September 22, 1925, a daughter of the late Gerney and Carrie Minnich Hand. She was a graduate of the former Tower City High School.

Gert was a retired floor lady from the former Mason Wear.

She was a very active member of the Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City, where she was a member of the choir, women's group, a trustee, and was always willing to volunteer whenever it was needed.

Gert resided at Pleasant Hill Estates, Harrisburg for the past 20 years where she enjoyed doing crafts and belonged to the Red Hat Society.

In addition to her parents, Gert was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Drum, 1998; three sisters, Elizabeth Reibsane, Doris Bixler, and Evelyn Cunningham; a brother, Raymond Hand.

Surviving are her two sons, Ronald Hand and his wife Sandy, Florida, and William Drum, Tower City; one daughter, Cindy Peed and her husband Tim, Virginia; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City, with Pastor Annette Shutt officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 at the church. A luncheon and time of fellowship will be held immediately after the service in the church social hall. Private burial will be held in Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 400 E Grand Ave, Tower City, PA 17980.

Terry C. Culton
, 80, of Tower City, passed away early Saturday morning, March 4, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous fight against brain cancer.

Born in Williamstown, October 12, 1942, a son of the late Edward F. and Iva Houtz Culton. Terry was a 1960 graduate of the former Williamstown High School.

He was a United States Air Force Veteran and served with the Air National Guard, 201st Red Horse Division for 27 years.

He was a retired machinist from Reiff & Nestor, Lykens.

He was a member of the former Ebenezer EC Church, Williamstown and a current member of Faith EC Church, Wiconisco. He was also a member of the Williamstown American Legion.

Terry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an accomplished woodworker who had a talent for remodeling.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Carol Trego Culton, 2013; a sister, Vicki Culton; two infant grandchildren.

Surviving are a son, Edward Culton and his wife Ashley, Harrisburg; two daughters, Pauline Ellis and her husband Mark, and Colleen Culton, both of Tower City; one grandson, Matthew Ellis, Tower City; one brother, Charles Culton, Williamstown; two sisters, Janice Culton, Williamstown, and Elaine Braucher and her husband Jack, Harrisburg. Terry is also survived by his two granddogs, Kimber and Daisy.

Services will be held Friday, March 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Stoner officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 at the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to Williamstown American Legion, 123 West Market Street, Williamstown PA, 17098.

Rita Boylan, 79, former Locustdale resident, passed away March 4, 2023, at the Mountain View Nursing Center, Coal Township.

The Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, Ashland, will announce funeral arrangements.
