Blayke Didgen McGuire
, 22, of Barnesville, passed away Saturday, April 22nd as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

Blayke was born in Mahanoy City, PA on April 5, 2001, a son of Jessica Didgen and Brett McGuire.

Graduated from Marian Catholic class of 2019. He was a member of the Lil Colt's and Marian Catholic Football teams.

He was a member of Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish Mahanoy City.

Blayke worked as a welder at Blashack Anthracite Mahanoy City.

He enjoyed hunting, four wheeling, riding his Harley, dirt bikes with his brothers, and could often be found working in the garage with his dad, Uncle Pete, and friends. Blayke loved spending time with his dog Ace (Kid)

Blayke is survived by four brothers, Austin Didgen; Nova McGuire; Racer McGuire, and Brett McGuire, all of Barnesville.
He had so much love for his brothers and will continue to be their number one fan.

He is also survived by his Grandparents are Monica and Thomas Didgen of Mahanoy City.

His beloved girlfriend, Annika Hahn which was the love of his life and her parents Paula and Steve Hahn.

Loving cousins Paris, Paislee, Brandon, Hunter, and Amanda.

Many friends and family that he loved dearly.

Blayke had the best personality and was loved by so many.

Kenneth E. “Ken” Ditzler, age 91, of Chambersburg passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Luther Ridge. Born January 26, 1932, in Pine Grove, Schuylkill County, PA, Ken was the son of the late Calvin D. and Viola M. (Kreichbaum) Ditzler.

A 1949 graduate of Pine Grove High School, Ken was an Air Force Veteran having served in Korea during the Korean War with the 3rd Bomb Wing. He was the last member of his immediate family to have spoken Pennsylvania Dutch. He was a member of Solomon’s United Church of Christ and a former member of Zion Reformed Church, UCC.

Ken started his Federal Government employment at Olmstead Air Force Base in Middletown and retired from Letterkenny Army Depot in 1987 following 37 plus years of service. He was Chief of the Missile Maintenance Division (Air Force) and was honored as Letterkenny Army Depot’s supervisor of the year in 1982 and 1986. Following his retirement from the federal government, Ken was employed by Franklin County for 20 years as a court crier.

For over 20 years Ken was active in coaching Little League baseball in Pine Grove and Chambersburg and he served as president of Chambersburg Suburban Youth League in the mid-1970’s. An avid Penn State football, Philadelphia Phillies, and Eagles fan, Ken also enjoyed fly fishing and taking many trips to Pine Creek as well as Lycoming and Tioga County.

Ken was a member of Pine Grove Lodge #409 F&AM and former member of Schuylkill Forest TCL #50. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1599, a member of American Legion Post 46, NARFE, AARP, and the Chambersburg Mall Walkers.

Ken was preceded in death by his wife R. Jean (Lenherr) Ditzler in December 2022, and is survived by sons Kenneth C. (Cathy) Ditzler and Kyle R. Ditzler of Chambersburg and Kirk A. (Conor) Ditzler of Ocean Park, ME; grandchildren Rachael A. Ditzler of Durham, NC, Brent S. Ditzler of Worcester, MA, and Devin A. Ditzler of Chambersburg; three step-sons Kevin (Donna) Helman of Fayetteville, Rodney (Shawan) Helman of Chambersburg, and Pete Helman of Maryland; four step grandchildren, and five step great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a sister Joyce Ginder, sister-in-law Janet Ditzler, niece Belinda Shade, all of Pine Grove, a nephew James Ginder of Tremont, and cousins in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Beside his parents and wife, Ken was preceded in death by a brother George, brother-in-law David Ginder, and nephew Timothy Ditzler.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 28, 2023 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Julia Brown and Rev. Peter Emig will officiate. Interment with military honors conducted me members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow at Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday and from 1:00-2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.

John O'Grady
, age 73, passed away on April 23, 2023, while a guest at Rosewood Nursing and Rehab Center in Schuylkill Haven.

John was born in Elizabeth, NJ, a son of John and Maria (McCarty) O'Grady, Sr. After high school, John served in the United States Navy. A lifelong truck driver, he was last employed by Jevic Trucking, working with many other companies throughout his career.

John was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Pottsville Aerie #134. He enjoyed playing cards, along with shooting pool. He was an avid NASCAR fan.

John is survived by his wife, Carol (Gilbert) O'Grady of Pottsville. He is also survived by his daughter, Gabriella O'Grady of Pittsburgh, a step daughter Amanda Campion and a step son, Michael Campion, both of Pottsville.

John is also survived by two brothers, Thomas O'Grady and his wife Laura of New Jersey and Trotty McCarty and his wife Pamela of South Carolina. He is also survived by two nephews, Robert and Phil.

A time for visitation with John's family will be held on Friday, April, 28th from 4-6 PM at the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 West Market Street, Pottsville.

Frederick J. Burinsky, 82, of Middleport, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023 while a guest at the Gardens at York Terrace in Pottsville.

Born on October 26, 1939, he was the son of the late Joseph and Florence (Bradbury) Burinsky. He was of the Lutheran faith.

Fred served in the US Army and the US Army National Guard for over 20 years. He was retired, having been employed by Reading Anthracite.

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Tray) Burinsky, 9 months ago on July 13, 2022. Also preceding him in death were two sisters, a nephew and a niece.

He is survive by a daughter, Sherry Lee Botter, of Texas; grandsons Sean Bottor, Joseph J Bottor and his wife Della, all of Pottsville; granddaughters Spring, wife of Jade Alvarez and thier son, Jade of California; Savannah, wife of Robert Miske, and their children Sloan and Rurick, of Texas; Lt. Colonel Jolene Ortiona USAF, wife of Major Alexander Ortiona USAF, and their children Elijah and Caleb of the Netherlands.

Step-daughter Regina M., wife of Emil Pangonis, and their children, Dustin T. Pangonis Esq., and wife Jessica, with thier son Graham, of New York, Dane C. Pangonis, Philadelphia and SSgt. Tyler A. Pangonis, USAF, of Alaska.

Close sister in-law, Shirley Gilbert and nephews Bruce Gilbert, Jr., and his wife Denise of Lititz and Christopher Gilbert of Lititz. An extended family of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive.

Fred will always be remembered for his Army stories, he loved joggin and walking his Siberian Huskies. He loved traveling with his wife Pat, especially to see his grandchildren. He loved his trips to Alaska, California and Germany.

A Celebration of Life Service and interment at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will be held privately by his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hillside SPCA, Pottsville. The Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home is assisting Freds family during their time of need.
