Ricky Lawrence Payne, 15, of Mount Carmel passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023 at home.

He was born on May 1, 2007, in Pottsville, PA, a son of Brent and Kristie Payne.

Ricky was a 9th grade student at Mount Carmel Area High School, but previously attended North Schuylkill and Towanda Area School Districts.

He loved football, lacrosse & wrestling. He was scheduled to wrestle on April 23 in Bloomsburg to qualify for Eastern Nationals. He was always ready to wrestle anyone, no matter the age or weight.

You could always find Ricky dancing to any beat, it didnt matter what kind of music. He loved making people smile, and his love for family and friends was unending. He made many friends in his short 15 years on this earth. He referred to many of them as his brothers and sisters from all of his sports teams. He was a talker and jokester at school, which made his friends laugh but his teachers not so much. Ricky will be missed by so many. He was looking forward to turning 16 in just a few weeks because he wanted his drivers license so badly.

Ricky worked at Knoebels. He was so proud of his first job and enjoyed working with his park family.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard VanDeMark, great grandfather, Willis Jones, and great grandparents, Lawrence and Marjorie Weaver.

in addition to his parents, Ricky is survived by two brothers, Garrett VanDeMark and fiance Kelsey of Philadelphia, Christopher Payne of Mount Carmel; Maternal Grandparents, James and wife Beverly Lake of Towanda; Paternal grandmother Bette Weaver of Towanda; paternal grandfather, Terry Payne of Rochester, NY; great grandmother, Theresa Jones of Engligh Center, PA; two uncles, Richard and wife Megan VanDeMark of Rome, PA, Joshua and wife Kirstie Lake of Athens; aunt Cheyenne and wife Tiffany VanDeMark of Bradford, PA.

A viewing will be held at the Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home 40 N. Market Street, Mount Carmel, on Wednesday, April 12th from 4 to 6, with a service at 6pm. A memorial lantern release will be held promptly at 8pm at the MCA High School soccer fields.

A viewing will also be held at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home 217 York Ave, Towanda, on Thursday April 13 from 2-4pm.

Graveside services and burial will be made on Friday April 14, at 10AM at the Bradford County Memorial Park.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Ricky's name to any of the following: Mount Carmel Area Wrestling Boosters, North Schuylkill Wrestling Boosters, or the Towanda Wrestling Boosters.

, 84, of Ashland passed away Friday morning at Broad Mountain Health & Rehab Center.

Dennis J. Zincavage, 77, of West West Terrace, Branch Township, passed away at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, on Saturday, April 1, 2023.

Born on July 18, 1945, in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Albert and Adele (Yetowta) Zincavage. He was a 1963 graduate of Minersville Area High School; and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed at Hexcel Corporation. He was also owner of the former Zin’s Inn, Saint Clair.

He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Minersville. He enjoyed camping, having maintained a camp site along the Susquehanna River in Duncannon.

Dennis is survived by his sister, Lois Guinther (spouse, Ronald), Oley; nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his lifelong friends, Robert and Rita Scales, Phoenix Park, Branch Township.

Relatives and friends may call at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville, on Monday from 7:00 P.M. Interment will be private in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Branch Township.

William J. Wendling
, 73, of Tower City, passed away suddenly, Thursday morning, April 6, 2023 at his home.

Born in Pottsville, June 21, 1949, a son of the late John and Katie Davis Wendling.

Bill enjoyed hunting, collecting coins, and playing cards. He loved spending time with his pet parakeet Pickles.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Freeman, and his brother, John Davis.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Maria Wendling, his son, Matthew Wendling (Benjamin), Harrisburg, his daughter, Samantha Wendling (Craig), Tower City, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Eli Kibler-Milburn, Lykens, whom he considered his grandson.

Following Bill's wishes, there will be no formal services.

The Dimon Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., is honored to serve the Wendling family.

Barbara M. Ossman
, 86, of Tower City, PA entered into God’s kingdom on April 4, 2023.

She was born on March 6, 1937 in Valley View, PA to the late Irvin I. Shadle and Mabel R. Keister Shadle. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Ossman and eight siblings. Barbara served honorably in the Women’s Army Corps and was a graduate of the former Higgins Township High School in 1955. Barbara worked at Ft. Indiantown Gap, New Cumberland Army Depot and Mechanicsburg Navy Department, retiring with 25 years of federal service in 2003. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Reinerton, PA.

Barbara is survived by her twin daughters Martha (Dennis) Shepard, Margaret (Larry) Mackowiak and her son, Lance Ossman. She was a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren; James Shepard, Jaclyn Shepard, Kevin Shepard, Paul (Kyler) Mackowiak, Kevin (Ashley) Mackowiak, Matthew Mackowiak, Timothy Mackowiak and Aaron Ossman. She was also blessed to have four great-grandsons, twins Alex and Austin LaBrake, Landon Maloney, and Lincoln Mackowiak. She is also survived by her remaining sibling, Arlene Hurtzel of York Haven, PA.

Barbara was active in her church, singing in the choir. She loved to play the piano and was known for telling corny jokes. Those who knew her often called her a “spitfire” because of her high energy and quick wit.

A memorial service for Barbara will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 11:00 AM at Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City, PA. Visitation will be held from 10-11. Burial with military honors will be Monday, May 1 at 9:30 AM at Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA.

Memorial contributions in memory of Barbara may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1931 Wiconisco St, Tower City, PA 17980.
