Judith A. Cappel, 75, of Pottsville passed away peacefully Wednesday morning at Broad Mountain Nursing Home.

Born in Pottsville, January 2, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mildred Mortimer.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville.  Judith worked at Craftex Mills in Auburn throughout her life before retiring in the 2000s.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her great grandson Colton Yeager along with her sisters Joan Mortimer and Evelyn Ditzler.

She is survived by her children; James Cappel of Pottsville, Brian Cappel,husband to Gina of Frackville, and Jodi Cappel companion to Jeff Coy of Charleston, SC. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Brianna, Justin, Jeremy, Nicholas, Johnna, Ayden, and William along with twelve great
grandchildren, sister, Dorothy Daubert and brother Edward Mortimer.

Judy will be best remembered for loving her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren unconditionally. She would most likely be found with a fruity drink or pumpkin beer in her hand, listening to country music, with her hair and nails done, and never without a sarcastic comment.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven. Family and friends are welcome from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Judith's name be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 W. Arch Street, Pottsville, PA 17901.

Bernard J. Gigli
, 82, of New Ringgold, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in his home. He was the husband of the late Paulette B. (Snyder) Gigli. They were married for 52 years. 

Prior to retiring, he was employed by the former Dana Corp., Reading, as a machinist. Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late Dominic and Anna (Boyle) Gigli. He was the member of St. John XXIII Catholic Church, Tamaqua. He was a Navy veteran having served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Bernard enjoyed trips to the casinos. 

He was also preceded in death by a son, Damian, and a sister, Anna Marie Hudock. 

He is survived by two sons, Justin, of Tamaqua, and Bernard, and his wife, Ashley, of New Ringgold; daughter, Nicole, wife of Michael Trantolo, of Ellington, CT; seven grandchildren; a niece and a nephew. 

Services will be held at 11am on Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 West Penn Pike, New Ringgold, with Rev. Robert Johnson officiating. Call 10-11am. Interment with military honors will be in St. Jerome’s Cemetery, Tamaqua. Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959. 

Arrangements are being handled by the Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 West Penn Pike, Rte. 309, New Ringgold.
