Schuylkill Technology Center Launches New Adult Evening Medical Assisting Program

Schuylkill Technology Center announced the launch of a new adult, evening, Medical Assisting Program scheduled to launch July 11, 2023, at the North Campus.

This 615-hour program is designed to train students in the general clinical skills needed to work in a medical office, including patient intake, vital signs, phlebotomy, and assisting the medical provider in a medical environment.

Students are prepared to take the NHA CCMA Certification upon completion of the program.

“The Medical Assisting program will begin in July 2023, will run two to three evenings per week and will conclude in July of 2024, which is convenient for people who work during the day and want to attend classes at night,” said Shannon Brennan, Director.

The Medical Program is priced at $8,920 and financial aid is available for those who qualify.

“Medical Assisting compliments the existing program offerings because it appeals to students that completed the Certified Nursing Assistant Program and want to progress to another level or for those who may not be ready for a Practical Nursing Program,” said Brennan.

Schuylkill Technology Center has been slowly working to add new adult evening programs that mirror what is offered for secondary students. Adult evening courses are currently offered in Welding, CDL, and Automotive Technology. Adult day courses are offered in Heavy Equipment Operation, Practical Nursing and Electro-Mechanical Technology.
