Shawn P. Shoup, 47, Girardville passed away on Monday, July 3rd at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, Allentown.

Born in Ashland, he was a son of C. John Shoup of Barnesville and Lila Shoup of Girardville.

Shawn enjoyed playing guitar, shooting pool and had a passion for his mini-bikes.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his two sisters, Rita Ann and her husband Michael Hartz, Girardville; Candice and her husband Thomas J. Squires, Girardville; his two nieces, Meah and Willow and his nephew, Tate; he is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 7th at 6:45 p.m. from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Girardville with Rev. Craig Zimmerman. Friends are invited to his viewing at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be private.

Sue Ann Moyer
, age 74, of Mechanicsville, PA passed away Monday, July 3rd, 2023 at her daugter's Cheryl's home in MaCungie.

Born in Pottsville, PA on January 24, 1949, she was the daughter of the late James O. and Marion R. (Schell) Keefer.

Sue worked for Bayshore Knitting Mills, H.L. Miller and Son, Costas Candy, and was a House Keeper for the Lehigh Valley Health Network at South before retiring. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Pottsville and the Mechanicsville Ladies Auxiliary. Sue loved gardening and cooking.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Stephen George Moyer, brothers: John, Donald, and Harry Keefer and sisters: Anna Keefer, Gladys Carroll, and Sarah Jane McAnney

Sue is survived by two daughters: Tara Lynn Ellex and her husband Ronald Jr. and Cheryl Ann Hinkle and her husband Michael Jr.; eight grandchildren: Jonathan, Samantha, Nicole, Tommy, Brendan, Lucas, Logan, and Lillain; seven great-grandchildren: Jeremiah, Kalli, Jayden, Ariya, Maisie, Zoey, and Cooper; a brother Dennis Keefer Sr.; a sister Geraldine Belusko; and nieces and nephews.

A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home in Port Carbon at 7PM on Friday, July 7th, with Rev. Hugh Vrablic officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Friday evening from 5-7PM at Funeral Home.

Interment will be held privately.

Jacqueline (Jackie) Babb, 74, of Biddle Street, Gordon, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, with family by her side, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born in Pottsville, August 29, 1948, she is the daughter of Beryl (Reese) Stitzer, Gordon, and the late John “Jack” Stitzer. She was a graduate of the former Ashland Area High School, class of 1966. Jackie was a graduate of the Empire Beauty School, attaining her license as a beautician, working for many years in that position. She was a member of Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Airport Road, Ashland, and the Friends of Gordon Association. Preceding her in death was her first husband, Lowell Luckey, and her father, John “Jack” Stitzer on March 7, 2018.

Diane R. Butkus
, 68, of Barnesville, passed away peacefully on Sunday at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of the late Franklin Brugger and Ethel (Miller) Hanson, and stepfather Joseph Hanson, Sr.

Prior to retiring, she was employed in the area garment industry for many years.

​Diane most enjoyed time spent with her family, caring for her grandchildren, baking and cooking meals for family gatherings and holidays and making her baked goods for others to enjoy.

Diane found joy in helping others and put others needs above her own. She was hard working, dedicated to her family and will be greatly missed.

​Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and stepfather, were an infant daughter Jennifer Lee Butkus; infant grandsons Austin and Aiden Sobolewski; brother Joseph Hanson, Jr. and nephew Rory Brugger.

​Surviving, are her daughters Christine Sobolewski and husband Matthew, Jessica Rick and husband Joseph, and Amanda Ryan and husband Brad, all of Barnesville; grandchildren Kendra and Travis Sobolewski, Madilyn and Joseph Rick, Marla Ryan, Mason Ryan and companion Rylee Kane, and Alanna Ryan and companion Dylan Anastascio and soon to be expected first great-grandchild; brother Michael Brugger and wife Ann and sister Susan Hildebran and husband Nichlas, all of Ohio; brothers Kevin Brugger and wife Eileen, and David Brugger and companion Donna Cassler, all of Reinholds, PA; aunts, cousins, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive.

​A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Ann M. Love, 71, of Natale Court, Pine Grove, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at home.

Born on July 3, 1951 in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Eva Ferrebee Young.

She had been a member of Hetzel's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.

Ann worked at the Truck Stop in Pine Grove as a weight master.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 46 years, Richard A. Love, Sr.; a son, John Love; and a sister Janet Nagle.

Surviving are two sons, Richard A. Jr. and wife Sharon Love, Steven Love; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Love; 4 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; three sisters, June Gerber of Sellersville, Dorothy Wolfe of Pine Grove, Donna Buchter of Stevens; a brother, Charles Young of Rexmont; nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
