Guy E. Recla
, 94 of Pottsville, loving husband, dad and pap-pap was taken to heaven Saturday by God’s angels to be with his daughter Tina, his parents and many family members.

He was born December 8 1928 in Minersville a son of the late Henry and Mary Deponas Recla.

He attended Schuylkill Haven High School.

He was a veteran of the Marine Corps having served from 1947-1950.

Upon being honorably discharged from the Marine Corps and raising a family he went to work as a coal Miner and his family business Rekla Coal Mine Company and later worked to Pottsville Bleach and Dye, Port Carbon prior to retiring.

Guy was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.

Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting and being a family man with his wife Shirley.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Robinson; a brother Henry Recla; a sister, Edith Manley.

Surviving are his wife with whom he would have celebrated 73 years of love and friendship with on September 9th, Shirley Losch Recla; his children, Mary McElvaney and her husband Bill, Port Carbon; Guy J. Recla, Pottsville; Theresa Meade and her husband Bob, New Albany; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; a brother Danny Recla, FL;

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11AM from St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30AM until the time of mass. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Guy be made to Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901. Military honors will be held immediately following mass. Interment will be at the convenience of at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
