Joseph Matsago, 68, of Tamaqua, PA died on Friday, August 11, 2023, in Bethlehem, PA. He was the husband of Annette Nowacki. 

Born in Coaldale, PA on October 16, 1954, Joseph was a son of the late Joseph C. and Julia Helen (Alexander) Matsago. A 1972 graduate of Tamaqua High School, he served in the Navy Seabees from 1973-1979. Joseph was employed by St. Luke’s Hospital – Miner’s Campus in the maintenance department. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, Summit Hill; the Catholic War Veterans; and the Tamaqua American Legion C.H. Berry Post # 173 where he served as a member of the legion’s honor guard. 

In addition to his wife, Annette, Joseph is survived by a son, Dylan Matsago of Tampa, FL; daughter, Janelle Brown and her husband, Daniel of Tewksbury, MA; sisters, Joanne Noll and her husband, Les of Myerstown, PA and Connie Andescavage and her husband, Andy of New Cumberland, PA; brothers, Michael Matsago and his wife, Ann of South Tamaqua and Danny Matsago and his wife, Rosella of Tuscarora, PA. 

In addition to his mother and father, he was predeceased by his stepmother, Margaret Mary (Belsak) Matsago who raised him. Services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 16 at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home with The Rev. Robert George officiating. Interment in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown, PA will follow the services. Call 9-11 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Tamaqua Legion Honor Guard, c/o the Tamaqua Legion, 206 West Broad Street, Tamaqua, PA 18252.

Arrangements are being handled by the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Tamaqua.

Gale A. Krammes
, 82, formerly of Joliett, passed away Friday night, August 11, 2023 at her granddaughter's home in New Bloomfield, where she currently resided.

Born in Pottsville, June 9, 1941, a daughter of the late Ralph and Gladys Harris Wetzel.

She was retired from ZEMCO, Williamstown.

Gale enjoyed readings and doing puzzle books. She had a large collection of purses and enjoyed putting jewelry and bling on them. She will be remembered for being the matriarch of the Wetzel family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edward, 2003; two sons, Ralph and Kerry Krammes; two brothers, Dennis and Dale Wetzel.

Surviving are her daughter, Tammy L. Kutsey and her husband William Sr., Pine Grove; three grandchildren, Marlayna Rudy and her husband Jason, New Bloomfield, William Kutsey Jr., and Glen Kutsey, both of Pine Grove; five nephews, Dustin, Drew, Doug, Greg, and Gary Wetzel; four great nieces; two great nephews; her beloved great granddog Kota.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home with Pastor Annette Shutt officiating. Viewing will be held from 10-11 at the chapel. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Tremont.
