Rhoades to Coach First Home Game for Penn State Men's Basketball in November

The anticipation is building as the 2023-24 Penn State men's basketball non-conference and Big Ten schedule was unveiled last week, signaling the beginning of a new era under the leadership of Peter and Ann Tombros Endowed Head Coach Mike Rhoades.

Coach Rhoades, a proud native of Mahanoy City and Schuylkill County, took the helm in March, and his first season promises to be an exciting journey back to his roots.

Penn State basketball enthusiasts can expect an action-packed season ahead as the Nittany Lions are set to host 17 games throughout the 2023-24 campaign. Among these home games, the team will play a "home" date against Michigan scheduled at The Palestra in Philadelphia.

During a press conference in March celebrating his official appointment as head coach, Coach Rhoades expressed his heartfelt excitement about playing his home games in Pennsylvania, a move that holds immense significance for his friends and family, particularly those residing in Schuylkill County.

"Attendance will definitely be up... A LOT. There will be a lot of road trips from Schuylkill County. Put a Yuengling truck out there, LOOK OUT!" Coach Rhoades exclaimed with a grin.

The journey for Coach Rhoades and the Nittany Lions kicks off with an exhibition game at Robert Morris University in Moon Township, located near Pittsburgh.

Fans will have their first chance to cheer on the Nittany Lions at home on November 6th, 2023, as they face off against Delaware State in University Park.
