Letitia F. (Tish) Malarkey, 73 of Pottsville, PA died on October 17, 2023 in her residence.

Born in Pottsville on January 9, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Robert G. Felix and Elizabeth (Miller) Felix Mykowich.

She was a 1967 graduate of Pottsville Area High School, a 1971 graduate of Kutztown University and completed her Master of Science degree in 1982 at Bloomsburg University. She completed further graduate studies in Reading Recovery through East Stroudsburg University. Tish was employed for 27 years with the Child Development Program of Schuylkill County, where she taught preschool children and served as the Early Intervention Coordinator. She then went on to teach reading at the Mahanoy Area School District for 15 years, retiring in 2014. While at Mahanoy Area, she was responsible for Instituting Family Reading Night, an evening reading program for children and families.

Tish was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Pottsville, where she served numerous terms on the vestry, including one term as Senior Warden. She also taught Sunday School, was advisor to the youth group, served as President of the Episcopal Church Women, and volunteered at the Pottsville Soup Kitchen.

She was a volunteer with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Schuylkill County and a member of the Mahantongo Chapter of the Daughter of the American Revolution. She was also a member of the Mahanoy City Nifty Knitters Group and the Philanthropic Club of Pottsville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 2019 .

She is survived by her son, Edward Hosler and his wife, Rebecca, of Lock Haven; one grandson, Jacob, of Lock Haven; a sister, Kate G. Felix (Scott Snyder), of Littleton, CO; a brother, Herber D. Felix II (Sherree), of Fayetteville, NC; and a niece and nephew.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, October 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, Second Street at Howard Avenue, Pottsville, with Rev. Kurt Kovalovich officiating. A visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service in church.

Interment will follow in Charles Baber Cemetery, Pottsville.

Jack L. Boyer
, 84, of Williamstown, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at his daughter's home in Harrisburg.

Born in Williamstown, November 29, 1938, a son of the late John and Esther Machamer Boyer. Jack was a 1956 graduate of Williamstown High School.

He was a retired die repairman from AMP/Tyco.

Jack was an active member of the Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City, where he served as a trustee. He was the unofficial cook at the church, where he oversaw all the food fundraisers. He was especially known for his soup sales. Jack was also a member of the Williamstown American Legion and the Williamstown Fire Company.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Rae Carl Spittle Boyer, 2012; two sisters, Shirley Nolte and Merle Thompson; a stepson, Lynn Spittle.

Surviving are his children, Jackie Seiger, Minersville, John Boyer, Williamstown, Lisa Stransfield, Millersburg, and Amy Muggio, Harrisburg; a stepson, Gary Spittle, Tower City; a sister, Faye Thompson, Mechanicsburg; twelve grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Christ United Methodist Church with his pastor, Annette Shutt officiating. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the church. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow.
