Jacqueline "Jackie" Sharon
, 86, passed away on October 11, 2023. Born October 17, 1936, in Mechanicsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn (Neifert) Garland. Jacqueline was the widow of Ned L. Sharon, who passed away on November 11, 2006, after 49 years of marriage.
She graduated in 1954 from Pottsville High School. After graduation, Jacqueline was employed at H.L. Green 5 & 10 cent store and the Pottsville Hospital Warne Clinic in the dietary and housekeeping departments, retiring after 28 years of service.

Jacqueline was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Port Carbon, and the Senior Citizens of St. Clair and Port Carbon.

She was very proud of her grandchildren and devoted to her great-grandchild. She enjoyed Judge Judy and Doctor Phil in her spare time. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her apartment friends.
She was the 3rd out of 4 sisters: Roberta (dec), Bettemae (Pottsville), and Beverly Rogers (Virginia Beach).

Jacqueline leaves behind two daughters. Nedra Lynne, husband James Howells, Pine Knot, and Lori Ann, husband John Steinhart, Pottsville. Four grandchildren-Tyler Stephen, married to Fior, Fleetwood; Aaron Steinhart, wife Marla, Marietta; Tanner Steinhart, Pottsville, and Kelsey Lynne Stephen, Pine Knot, mother to Jacqueline’s greatest joy, her 1st great-grandchild, Jackson James Killian.

She also leaves many friends from Miners Loft, Minersville, where she last resided, life-long friends from her Pottsville Hospital days, nieces and nephews.

A Religious Service will be held on Saturday October 21, 2023 at 12 noon at the Robert A Evans Jr Funeral Home in Port Carbon, with John Steinhart Sr. officiating.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Saturday morning from 10am till time of services at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at the Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery in Schuylkill Haven.
