John Samuel Futchko
, 72, of Palm Beach, FL and formerly of Coaldale, died on Monday, November 13, 2023, in Palm Beach. 

Born in Coaldale on October 5, 1951, he was the son of the late Nicholas Futchko and Catherine (Ferryman) Matta. John was an avid Eagles fan and enjoyed being with his dogs, Snoopy and Shep. In his younger years, he was a part of the “Fast by Ferracci” drag motorcycle team and rode custom Ducati motorcycles. 

John is survived by his sister, Margaret “Peggy” Andel of Coaldale and caretaker and friend, Steve Farnsworth of FL. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Nicholas Futchko, Rita Rickert, Philip Durling and Kay Anfuso. 

Services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua. Call 10-11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA, PO Box 332, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972 or the Hanley Foundation of Florida at hanleyfoundation.org. 

Arrangements are being handled by the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Tamaqua.

Dawn M. Kessler
, 45, of Blandon passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday at The Reading Hospital.

Born in Pottsville, August 3, 1978, she was the daughter of Gerald and Marilyn Koch Chimokosky.

Dawn was a 1996 graduate of Minersville Area High School. She then went on to attend Pottsville School of Nursing where she became a Registered Nurse.

Dawn and her boyfriend enjoyed travelling to craft bars, street fairs, and wineries. They loved travelling to Watkins Glen each year to attend the races and visit with out of state friends along with their annual beach trips. She loved visiting Jim Thorpe to enjoy the atmosphere and scenery each season.

Dawn was a 17 years survivor of gastroparesis and advocated for Gastroparesis National Acknowledgement, making August the recognized month.

Dawn was preceded in death by her brother Marlin E. Chimokosky.

In addition to her parents, Dawn is survived by her daughter Marlana J. Kessler and her companion Jeffrey Laity of Blandon.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven at 11:30 A.M. A viewing will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Interment will follow on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Roger D. Kilpatrick Sr, 66, of Tamaqua, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, in the home of his son, Roger Jr, and his fiancée, Jennifer. He was the husband of the late Yvette (Lopez) Kilpatrick, who passed away on June 14, 2023. 

Prior to retiring, Roger was a life-long truck driver. 

Born in New York, New York, he was the son of the late Aida (Mendoza) Kilpatrick. He was of Catholic faith. He was a hard-core NY Mets and NY Jets fan and he liked to listen to rock music. He loved his children and grandchildren. 

Surviving are three sons, Roger, Jr. and his fiancée, Jennifer, of Tamaqua, Chris, and his fiancée, Kathy, of Lansford, and Joseph, and his fiancée, Kelly, of Coaldale; daughter, Stacy, of Philadelphia; three brothers, Billy Kilpatrick, of NY, Mike Kilpatrick, and his wife, Maryam, the Philippines, Dimas Lespier, of Long Island, NY; sister, Margie, wife of Fred Blanco, Brooklyn, NY; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held and announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Roger Kilpatrick Jr, or the funeral home to help with the funeral expenses. 

Arrangements are being handled by the Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 West Penn Pike, Rte. 309, New Ringgold, PA 17960.

Wayne “Web” Weinreich Jr., 76, of Lavelle passed away Wednesday evening November 15th home.

Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home Inc. 901 Centre Street Ashland, PA 17921 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
