Anna Mary Dohmann Upton
, age 93, passed away on October 19, 2023, in Pottsville, PA. Ann was a long-time resident of Pearl River, NY, and earlier the Bronx, NY. Ann had a long career as a teacher in the New York City public schools.

Ann was born in New York City to Richard and Catherine (McNamara) Halpin, both immigrants to the United States from Ireland.

Ann was first married to George W. Dohmann of the Bronx, with whom she had two sons, George R. and Christopher Dohmann, who brought her four grandchildren.

Later in life, Ann married John Upton of Pearl River. Her marriage to John brought her three adult stepsons; John, Dennis and Devin Upton, who brought her step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Richard Halpin, her husband John Upton, and stepson John Upton.

A mass of christian burial for Ann will be held at 10 am on November 11, 2023 at St. Aedan's Church in Pearl River.

Ann's favorite charity was NY State Right to Life.

Vera M. Donmoyer, 91, of Pine Grove, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 in Rosewood Rehab and Nursing Center, Schuylkill Haven.

Born on April 23, 1932 in Hubley Township, she was a daughter of the late John and Sara Adams Salada.

Vera was a member of the Pine Grove Wesleyan Church and a had been a member of TOPS.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 67 years, Ben L. Donmoyer on March 23, 2020; a daughter, Ruby Seigfried; three sisters, Dora Fauber, Betty Morris and Norma Hoy; three brothers, Roy, Darwin, and George Salada.

Surviving are three sons, Rodney Donmoyer of Pine Grove, Jerry Donmoyer of Hiddenite, N.C., Marc Donmoyer and companion Cherie Kaufman of Pine Grove; a daughter, Sherry and husband Dean Herring of Pine Grove; 10 grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Shovawn, Jared, Casey, Jordan, Josh, Ryan, Cody and Kaitlin; 9 great grandchildren; a sister Nancy Smith; four brothers, David and wife Debbie Salada, Ronald and wife Shirley Salada, Paul and wife Rose Salada, James and wife Jeanette Salada; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Pastor Richard Hoffman officiating. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hetzel's Cemetery, Pine Grove.

Edward Smith
, 76, of Girardville passed away Wednesday evening November 1st at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Ashland on September 2, 1947 he was the son of the late Rita (Murphy) and Jonas Smith.

He is the husband of Sharon (McAvoy) Smith.

He graduated from Cardinal Brennan High School in 1968. Edward then enlisted in the Marine Corps shortly after graduation and served in Vietnam. He then worked many years as a forklift operator for Honeywell in Minersville.

Edward was of the Catholic faith and attended the former St. Vincent de Paul Church in Girardville and St. Charles Borromeo in Ashland.

He enjoyed shooting, hiking and watching sports. Ed was a devout Notre Dame and Vikings fan.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by; brother Daniel Smith; sister Rose Marie Smith; sister in law Sally Ann Smith.

He is survived by; spouse Sharon Smith, Girardville; brother Jonas Smith, Ashland; daughter Andrea Bzdak (Brian), Catawissa; daughter Maryellen Smith, Girardville; son Edward J. Smith (Lori), Aristes; son Eric Smith, Freidensburg; 8 grandchildren Ben, Bailey, Grace, Katie, Olivia, Laney, Avery, Kalli; 2 great grandchildren Aleah & Halle; several nieces & nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday November 13th from 9:00-10:30 AM at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with Fr. Giuseppe Esposito officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow services at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
