Pottsville Rotary Announces December Students of the Month

 


POTTSVILLE - The December 2023 Students of the Month of the Pottsville Rotary Club were honored at their recent meeting on Wednesday, December 6th, 2023, at Vitos Coal Fired Restaurant in St. Clair.

POTTSVILLE AREA HIGH SCHOOL

ARMONIA PANIAGUA

Armonia Paniagua is the daughter of Robin and Cuauhtemoc Paniagua of Pottsville. Her school activities consist of Foreign Language Club, Students Against Destructive Decisions, Key Club, Ecology Club, German Club, Class Secretary, Student Council Officer, TRIO Upward Bound Program.

She is a part time employee at Lehigh Valley Hospital. Her honors include National Honor Society member, Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica, and Rochester Institute of Technology Women in STEM Award.

Armonia plans to attend Penn State University to major in Biology.



VINCENT PRESTILEO

Vincent Prestileo is the son of Jill and Jason Prestileo of Pottsville. His school activities consist of Pottsville Area Band Ensembles, County Band, Choir, County Choir, District Choir, Drama Club, Swim Team, Tennis Team, and Quiz Team.

His community activities include Church Ensemble, Altar Server, and Third Brigade Band. Vincent’s honors include Two Year member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Recipient of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Award, and Varsity Letter in Track and Field, Swimming Soccer and Band.

Vincent plans to attend Penn State University to major in Civil Engineering.

NATIVITY BVM HIGH SCHOOL

ABBEY LESKIN


Abbey Leskin is the daughter of Joseph and Rebecca Leskin of Brockton. Her school activities consist of Soccer, Basketball, Diversity Club, Interact Club, and International Club.

Abbey is a volunteer with the Coat and Diaper Drive. After graduation, she plans to attend college for Pre-Med.






LUKE STERNS


Luke Sterns is the son of Gretchen and Joe Sterns of Deer Lake. His school activities include: Golf, Wrestling, Interact Club, Math Club, Student Ambassador and Spanish Club. Luke is a volunteer with the Blood Drive and St. Ambrose Church.

After graduation, he plans to attend College to study Business.

MINERSVILLE AREA HIGH SCHOOL

KAYCEE A. RACZKA

Kaycee Raczka is the daughter of Danielle Raczka. Her school activities consist of: Aevidum Club Leader, Student Council, STEM Club, Pep Club Co-founder/member, Spanish Club, and a four-year member of Varsity Basketball, Soccer and Softball teams. She is also a four-year member of Track & Field.

Outside of school Kaycee is employed by Big Diamond Speedway, volunteers with Minersville Youth Basketball and the Junior Advisory Board. After graduation, Kaycee plans to attend West Virginia University to major in Forensic Science.



MAX MORAN

Max Moran is the son of Sharon Moran and Thomas Moran III. His school activities consist of: Spanish Club, Drama Club Treasurer, Tech Crew, Student Council Vice President, Stem Club President, SADD, Aevidum Club, Academic League and Choir.

Max volunteers at the Youth Football and Basketball Games, the Red Cross Blood Drive and is a Staff Member for the Minersville Athletic Department. After graduation, Max plans to attend Edinboro University to major in Bio-Pre Medicine.
