Michael Stockunas, 62, of Minersville, PA, passed away Friday, December 8th, at his residence.

Michael was born in Mahanoy Plane, PA on October 4, 1961, a son of Eleanor (Gower) Stockunas and the late Joseph Stockunas.

He graduated from Mahanoy Area High School class of 1979.

Michael is survived by a son, Michael, Companion Shyane Stockunas, of Girardville; two brothers, Joseph, husband of Suzanne Stockunas, of San Juan Capistrano CA; Scott Stockunas, of Mahanoy Plane.

He is also survived by 2 Granddaughters Mickenzie, Lila. A niece and a nephew.

Interment private at convenience of the Family.

Bruce D. Keefer
, 80, of S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

Born on December 13, 1942 in Danville, he was a son of the late Bruce H. and Annie Ward Keefer.

Bruce was a 1962 graduate of Southern Columbia High School.

He was a Navy Veteran having served during the Vietnam War.

Bruce worked in the shipping department at Penn Dye in Pine Grove.

He was a member of the Pine Grove Masonic Lodge #409 F. & A.M. and had been a member of the Donaldson United Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death were two sisters.

Surviving are his wife Carolyn Kimmel Keefer; two daughters, Kimberly and husband Lee Tobin, Shelly Brommer and companion Irvin Weiler, both of Pine Grove; 8 grandchildren, Christopher and wife Stefanie Keefer, Samantha and husband Bryce Becker, Dakotah Adams and companion Josh Degnan, Katelynn Tobin and companion Robert MacNeal, Caleb Brommer and companion Amy Kimmel, Gabrielle and husband Daniel Howerton, Joshua Tobin and Jocelyn Tobin; 9 great grandchildren, Wyatt and Brailynn Keefer, Mason and Olivia Shepard, Finnley, Lily and Zoey Howerton, August and Thea MacNeal; two brothers David Keefer of Catawissa, John Keefer of Philadelphia; nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Champ.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Pastors David Botzer and Irvin Weiler officiating. There will be a viewing on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from Noon until 1:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

In lieu of flowers the family would prefer contributions be made to Wounded Warriers, Inc., 1117 Country Club Road, Camp Hill, Pa 17011 in his memory.

, 79, Ashland passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, December 1st.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Elaine Joan (Hess) Hollenbach
, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, 81 years of age, of New Ringgold, East Brunswick Twp., Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hospice in-patient unit in Salisbury Twp.

Born Wednesday, February 25, 1942, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Charles Hess, and Victoria (Lick) Hess - Freeman. Elaine was also predeceased by her stepfather, John Freeman.

Surviving are daughter, LaRue Flammer; son, Richard Hollenbach II and his wife Debbie; sister, LaRue Case; grandchildren, Lauren Flammer and her fiancé Dakota Soloman, Matthew Flammer, Richard Hollenbach III and his wife Bethany, Jonathan Hollenbach, and his fiancée Tia Blauvelt.

A graduate of Blue Mountain High School, Elaine attended Kutztown University. Elaine retired as secretary to the Athletic Director of Blue Mountain School District having worked 30 years. A member of Christ Church of McKeansburg, Elaine enjoyed investigating family genealogy, history, archeology, and was well versed in the events of the Civil War, participating in Civil War Round Table meetings and conferences. She also belonged to the Pennsylvania German Society and a number of Local Historical Societies. Elaine's greatest joy was time spent with her family and she loved her children, and grandchildren unconditionally.

It is with great sadness the family of Emily A. Holland, announce the untimely death of their precious daughter, sister, grandchild and niece due to complications from Post-Partum Depression. Emily died on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at home with her mother, she was 21 years of age.

Born Friday, January 11, 2002 in Pottsville, Emily is survived by; mother Christine M. Zaprazny and her step-dad Joseph Dabashinsky; father, Robert Holland and her step-mom Sezen; son, Marti Harlow Wicker and his daddy, Austin Wicker. Her late brother Austin H.Hillbish who preceded her in June of 2017, her brothers, Tucker C. Sterner, Atilla Holland and step-brother Joseph C. Dabashinsky; sisters, Allison M. Hillbish, Maria E. Sterner, Liya Holland and step-sisters Jessica Dabashinsky, wife of Scott Cramer and Tara Dabashinsky; maternal grandfather, Daniel G. Zaprazny Sr. and his companion Peggy Latshaw; paternal grandmother, Anna Holland; Aunt Melissa and Uncle Anthony Lynam, Aunt Stacey and Uncle Paul Mickley, first cousins Nikki Edmonds and Jason Edmonds and his wife, Kati, first cousins Aubrielle, Alaina, Bailey, Levi, Avrie, Jolynn, Carter, little Sophia and many extended Aunts, Uncles, cousins and countless friends also survive Emily. Also, preceded by her maternal Meme, Marie E. Zaprazny, who just adored her and called her, her little princess.

A 2020 Blue Mountain High School graduate, Emily was the Art President, participant in school plays, and played varsity basketball. An old soul, Emily was referred to as her family's and friends "Hippie" girl. She was extremely artistic, painting canvases, writing poetry, journaling, singing and dabbling in songwriting. She was a bright ray of sunshine to all that had the pleasure to love her.

A doting mother who's world revolved around her son Marti; however, Emily suffered the devastating affects of Post-Partum Depression. Supported by all those who loved her, Emily attempted to battle this illness, for every fiber of her soul was devoted to her son whom she adored.

Joan C. Sherman
, 89, of Orwigsburg, passed away Friday, Dec.8th at Orwigsburg Nursing and Rehab Center, Orwigsburg.

Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Catherine (Gaffney) Troutman and Luther Troutman.

A 1952 graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, Joan also attended business school.

She raised her girls when they were young and was last employed for 27 years at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center in the nursing and then purchasing department.

Joan loved animals, especially cats. She also enjoyed baking, watching game shows, and spending time with family. Most recently she enjoyed the company of the caring nurse aides, nurses, and staff at Orwigsburg Center who tried to make her stay as comfortable as possible.

She was predeceased by her brother, Jerry Troutman, and her first cousin, June (Boyer) Bensinger.

Joan is survived by daughter, Jennifer Roeder, Orwigsburg, and daughter Cathy (husband Kim) Roeder of NC. She is also survived by grandsons, Kyle and Brett Roeder, Orwigsburg, and step-grandson, Alan Roeder, of Pine Grove.

Per Joan’s wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral service. Arrangements are being made by Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven. The family prefers remembrances in the form of contributions to Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.
