It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen J. Zelusky, 60, of Deer Lake, on Sunday, December 17th, at his residence.

Stephen was born in Pottsville, on November 24, 1963, a son of the late Verna (Letco) and Francis Zelusky.

He was the husband of Rosanne (McCabe) Zelusky.

He was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, as well as, The Men of St. Ambrose and social member of Liberty Fire Co. and Second Mountain Gun Club.

Stephen was a graduate of Minersville Area High School, class of 1981 and Penn State University with an associates degree in electrical engineering technology. He was employed as an Automation Specialist by Shingle and Gibb Automation, NJ.

One of Stephen's greatest passions was playing music. He enjoyed performing live and was a founding member and lead guitarist of the Schuylkill County rock band, Sapphire, where he shared the stage with his brother and some of his closest friends.

Stephen is survived by son Stephen F. Zelusky husband of Brianna, Barnesville, daughter Sara Zelusky, St. Clair, son Marshall Zelusky, Orwigsburg and daughter Mesa Zelusky and her companion Maddix Kovacs, Orwigsburg, grandson Owen Zelusky, one grandchild due August 1 Dawson or Avery Zelusky, brother Paul Zelusky husband of Deanna Zelusky, Hummelstown, brothers in law James McCabe, Pottsville and Dennis McCabe, Lebanon, nieces Bethany Zelusky and her companion Nick Paesano and Kiara McCabe, nephews Brandon Zelusky, Cory and Jordan McCabe and Nick Nagle, aunt Pat Hume and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Stephen and Verna Letco and paternal grandparents Joseph and Dorothy Zelusky.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, December 23 at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc in Schuylkill Haven, with Rev. Msgr. Edward S. Zemanik officiating.

A visitation for family and friends will be held 9 am to 12:30 PM on Saturday, December 23 at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc in Schuylkill Haven.
