Arlene Chillis
, 91, of Ashland, PA, passed away Saturday, December 2nd, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Arlene was born in Ashland, PA on May 30, 1932, a daughter of the late Mary (Chubb) and Emerson Lute.

Arlene attended local Schools.

She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Ashland.

She worked at Gitman Shirt Factory, Ashland.

She belonged to the Ashland VFW Auxiliary, the Washington Fire Company Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary, Sheppton. She loved her sports, whether supporting her grand kids or the Phillies, Eagles, or Michigan Wolverines. Her biggest love was her grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

She was wife of the late Albert Chillis.

Arlene is survived by a daughter, Beverly, wife of Lewis Pennypacker, of Ashland; two sisters, Lois Casey, of Ringtown; Ada Jackowiak, of Gilberton.  Three brothers, Carl, husband of Pearl Lute, of Kulpmont; Ted, husband of Jean Ann Lute, of Gordon; Terry, husband of Carol Lute, of Ashland; by 3 Grandchildren, Jason Pennypacker and his wife Valerie, Angela Grabosky and her husband Rick, and Julie Ambruch and her husband Danny, and 5 Great Grandchildren Sarah, Anna, Leah, Jaelyn, and Allie, and a brother in law Louis Chillis. Also her grandpets Daisy Mae, Bella, Finnegan, Rhea, Sadie Ann, Mac, and Pepper.

She is preceded in death by a brother Jimmy Lute, and sisters Virginia Barkanski, and Nancy Meyers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo, Ashland, at 10 AM on Wednesday, December 6th, with Father Giuseppe Esposito officiating.

Friends and family may call Wednesday 9 AM at St. Charles Borromeo.

Interment will follow at the Citizens Cemetery Lavelle.

Family prefers donations to the Washington Fire Company Ambulance Assoc. and the Ashland Public Library.

Eleanor Eichman, 93, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away Tuesday, November 28th, at Shenandoah Senior Living Community where she received amazing care for the Past 5 years.

Eleanor was born in Mahanoy City, PA on July 16, 1930, a daughter of the late Helen (Smulyk) and George Digris.

She was a member of Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish Mahanoy City, PA 17948.

Eleanor attended local Schools.

She had worked for General Cigar Mahanoy City and Atlas Powder in Tamaqua and Mahanoy Area School District.

Eleanor belonged to the Sodality of St. Teresa of Calcutta.

She was wife of the late Thomas Eichman who passed away in 1989.

Eleanor is survived by a daughter, Kelly Karlavage, of Bredenton FL, and by 1 Grandchild Kyle. Nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by sisters Rose Marie Reed, and Marian Kaspia, and a sister Stacie Eichman in 2014.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City, PA, at 11 AM on Saturday, December 9th, with Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher officiating.

Friends and family may call Saturday 10 to 11 AM at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish.

Interment will be in Skyview Memorial Park Tamaqua, PA.

Family prefers donations to Compassus Hospice and can be made at the church.

Kathleen M. King
, 57, of N. Garfield Ave., Schuylkill Haven, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born on December 14, 1965 in Pottstown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Thelma Hassinger Coe.

She was a 1983 graduate of Daniel Boone High School.

Kathleen was a Baker for the Egypt Star Bakery in Allentown and was an OAC volunteer at the Lehigh Career and Technical Institute in Schnecksville, PA.

Kathleen was a great wife, mother, and grandmother and loved her family.

Preceding her in death was a sister, Andrea Coe.

Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Russell "Butch" King; a son, Joshua King of Schuylkill Haven; three daughters, Alicia and husband Daryl Levan of Schnecksville, Brittany and husband Christian Donati of Pine Grove, and Samantha King of Schuylkill Haven; three grandchildren, Paislee Levan, Frankie Donati, and Isayah King.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at First United Church of Christ, 110 Rte. 61 South, Schuylkill Haven, with Pastor Shawn Van Dyke officiating with fellowship after. There will be a visitation on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 AM at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 139 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, PA 17963 in her memory to help with expenses.
