William P. Burns
, age 76, of Schoentown, PA passed away Monday, January 22nd, 2024 at The Garden's at York Terrace, Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville, PA on April 11, 1947, he was the son of the late Thomas and Hilda (McGann) Burns.

Bilwas a graduate of Nativity B.V.M. High School, Class of 1965 and then worked at SAPA in Cressona until retiring. Bill was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in St. Clair and an avid hunter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Paul McGann and a sister Ann Murphy 
Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth M. "Libby" Burns, Schoentown; a brother Thomas Burns and his wife Dianne, Swainton, NJ: sisters: Peggy Smith, Pottsville, Kathy Jones, Orwigsburg, Mary Suplee and her husband Bill, Valley Forge, Denise Stoner and her husband Dan, Pottsville, and Erin Cahill and her husband Mike, Mechanicsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services and interment will be held private. The Robert A Evans Jr Funeral Home in Port Carbon is in charge of arrangements.

Jonna L. Steinbrunn
, 56, of Orwigsburg, passed away Monday, January 22nd, at Geisinger St. Luke's, Orwigsburg.

Jonna was born in Pottsville on June 15, 1967, a daughter of the late Jane E. (Shuman) and John A. Steinbrunn.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Orwigsburg, and a 1985 graduate of Blue Mountain High School. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Shippensburg University in 1989.

She was previously employed in sales and customer service.

Some of Jonna's interests included poetry and singing. She was a past member of the Schuylkill County Chorus.

Jonna is survived by her twin sister Jodi O'Neill, wife of Jeff; sister, Amanda, wife of Robert Koehler, Jr.; and a brother, E. Jason Steinbrunn, husband of Laurie.

She is also survived by her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews: Jamie Koehler, wife of Jack BeVier; Mitchell Koehler, husband of Kayleigh and their son Hudson Koehler; Jason Steinbrunn; Lauren Steinbrunn and her daughter Gianna; Cara Haws, wife of Nathan and her daughter Maddison Jones, and their son Liam Haws; Nicholas Steinbrunn; Jessica Gosch, wife of Alex, their son Rowan; Jennifer O'Neill, fiancé of Ian Donovan, Jacqueline O'Neill, companion of Dillon Dress as well as several cousins.

A Religious Service will be held at 10:00 on Saturday, February 3rd at Hamilton - Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg, PA with Jamie Barton officiating. Public visitation will begin at 9:00.

Interment at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Inc. Schuylkill Haven, PA.

Allan C. Reed
, 94, of Pottsville, Pa. and formerly of Port Carbon, Pa., passed away on January 23, 2024, while in the care of Greon Valley Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pottsville, Pa. Allan was the loving husband of Marie I. Reed who passed away in May 2021, as well as the loving husband of Gertrude Reed who passed away in 1967.

Born in Middleport, Pa., Allan was a son of the late Irvin Richard and Mabel (Smith) Reed. Following his graduation from Blythe Township High School, Allan entered military service with the U.S. Army. From April 1951 through April 1953, he served with the Army as an active-duty soldier stationed in Korea. Following his Honorable Discharge from the Army, Allan returned to the States in order to find employment.

Allan, throughout his life, was employed in a variety of positions throughout the region. He worked as an over-the-road trucker for Pepsi-Cola as well as a truck driver for Pottsville Bleach and Dye, Port Carbon, Pa. Following his employment as a truck driver, Allan was eventually hired as a Boilermaker, a career that spanned well over 22 years. In this position, he and his teams were responsible for the construction of the Berwick Nuclear facility, the construction of the Limerick Generation station including multiple refueling sessions, as well as work at the Peach Bottom and Martin's Creek facilities.

Perhaps Allan's true calling as a Boilermaker occurred following the partial meltdown of the Unit 2 reactor at Three Mile Island, near Harrisburg, Pa. His team and teams assisted engineers to develop the appropriate tools necessary to safely start the process to disassemble, clean up and deactivate the reactor. For these efforts, Allan and his team appeared in a Life Magazine article outlining their work at TMI. Following his retirement as a Boilermaker, Allan enjoyed all his free time with his family.

Allan was an active member of the Masons. He was a 64-year member of Pulaski Lodge #216, Pottsville, Pa. He served as Worshipful Master of Lodge #730 in 1965 as well as the leader of Lodge 730 in Pottsville.

Allan was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Marie, his wife Gertrude as well as son, Daniel Callaghan. He is also preceded by his siblings: Leafie Reed Stephens, Irvin Reed Jr; Donald Reed, Lamar Reed, Russell Reed, Carl Reed and Marilyn Mengel.

Allan is survived by a son, Patrick Callaghan, husband of Ingrid, Middletown, Delaware. Denise Webber, wife of Robert, Pottsville, Pa; Debra, wife of Charles D. Donahue, Jr; Oley Pa. Grandchildren Michael Callaghan and his spouse, David of Odessa, Delaware, Robert Webber, Jr; Cumbola, Pa; Danielle Cushman, wife of Travis, Fleetwood, Pa; Stephanie Donahue, Oley, Pa. He is also survived by his three great-granddaughters Grace, Molly and Madeline Cushman of Oley, Pa.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 10:30 AM, at St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in St. Clair, Pa; with Reverend Msgr. William Glosser officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the church. Allan will be interred at the Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery in Schuylkill Haven following his funeral mass. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to St. Clare of Assisi Church or any veterans organizations in the area. A kind, thoughtful, generous and quiet man who always believed family came first. A true gentleman. We will miss him.

Thomas A. Miller
, 86 years of age a lifelong resident of West Penn Township, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at The Palmerton in Palmerton, Pennsylvania.

Born Sunday, August 22,1937 in West Penn Township, the son of the late George, and Jeannie (Middlecamp) Miller. Tom was also predeceased by; his beloved wife, Barbara A. (Wehr) Miller on Sept. 27, 2001; grandson, Jacob T. "Jakey" Troxell; sisters, Gladys Wehr, Arlene Hontz, Joyce Peters, Madeline Zellner, Edith Fritzinger, Beatrice Yates; brothers, Lester, Murland, Raymond, and George Miller.

Surviving are son, Bruce A. Miller of Tamaqua; daughter, Sandy A. Troxell wife of Leon of Andreas; grandchildren, Nikolas Heck and his companion Caitlin, Cloyd T. Troxell and his wife Megan, Steven J. Troxell and his companion Tracey Chickilly, Evan S. Troxell, Nadine A. Galloway and her husband Christopher, Samantha A. Troxell, Eden A.M. Troxell and her companion Jeremy Yeakley, Susan C. Troxell and her husband Teddy Zeigler; great grandchildren Temperance, Harmony, Wes, Hunter, Jayce. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive Tom.

Tom worked for Remmey Pallet of Normal Square for over 58 years, where he was responsible for fixing equipment as well as manufacturing parts and equipment to help the plant run more efficiently. Tom also farmed his family farm in West Penn Twp and delivered firewood to many area residents. He was a talented accordion player and would play with a trio of men at weddings, picnics, and social events throughout the area. Tom ran with the Mahoning Ambulance and Fire Company for many years as a driver. Tom enjoyed the companionship of his cats.

Regina Sophia Raudenbush
, 93, of Tower City, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Providence Place, Pine Grove.

Born in Lykens, December 7, 1930, a daughter of the late Samuel and Barbara Breit Gentile. She was a graduate of the former Lykens High School.

She was a retired seamstress from the local garment industry

Regina was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Chapel, Tower City. She was also a member of the Tower City American Legion Auxiliary.

Regina will be remembered for her love for her family and her infectious laughter. She enjoyed sewing, doing jigsaw puzzles, working in her garden and bird watching. She always looked forward to spending time at her camp in Halifax.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert, in 2016 and a brother Eugene Gentile.

She is survived by her five children, Barbara Kauffman, North Carolina, Jane Smith (Daryl), Harrisburg,, Harry Raudenbush (Linda),Tower City, Marie Artz (Marvin), Herndon; Robert Raudenbush (Faith), Port Allegany One brother, Samuel Gentile, Tower CIty. 9 grandchildren, Brandy Tunningley, Amber Schmidt , Nathan Houtz, Nena Shade, Lara Hege, Derek Raudenbush, Adam Artz, Zane Raudenbush and Kayla Johnson; 17 great grandchildren, Emily and Connor Tunningley, David, Madison and Samuel Schmidt, Hanna Houtz, Grayson and Paisley Shade, Kailyn, Malia and Tommy Hege, Briar Farrell, Holly, Laurel and Willow Raudenbush, Olivia Manrique and Everett Johnson. Nieces and nephews.

Regina will be laid to rest privately in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Rose Marie Curran
, 81, of Minersville passed away Monday, January 22nd, at the Orwigsburg Center. 

Rose was born in Shamokin, on June 2, 1942, a daughter of the late Rose (Slodysko) and Edward Weinhoffer. She was the widow of Alfred C. Curran Jr. Rose was a graduate of St. Edwards Catholic High School, Shamokin. She was the Co-owner Operator of the Minersville Bakery. 

Rose was a member of the Minersville Lionettes, M.A.H.S. 5th Quarter Club, Nativity Green & Gold Club, President of the Minersville Weight Watchers Club. She loved to travel, and go to the casino's. Especially Las Vegas. 

Rose is survived by a daughter, Karen, wife of Mark Donley, a son, Stephen Curran. Grandchildren; Jonathan & Joshua Donley, and Stephanie Curran. Rose is also survived by a sister, Lisa, wife of William Funk, and four brothers, Edward, husband of Carol Weinhoffer, Richard, husband of Cecelia Weinhoffer, Michael, husband of Anne Weinhoffer, and James Weinhoffer. Also survived by 5 nieces, 4 nephews, 5 Great Nieces, and 2 Great Nephews. 

All are respectfully invited to attend a Visitation, with calling hours from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday, January 29th at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc. Minersville. 

A Religious Funeral Service will follow at the funeral home at 12:00 PM with Reverend Jason F. Stokes officiating. Private interment Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
