Agnes D. Golca, 92, formerly St. Clair, died Monday February 26, 2024, at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville PA

Born in St. Clair, July 4, 1931, She was a daughter of the late John and Susan (Pado) Motto.

She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair, PA

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Golca in 2016 , 6 brothers: Andrew, John, Albert, Michael, Francis, Edward Motto; 2 sisters Anna Filtosh, Mary Bronstad.

Surviving are a son Walter Golca of Boca Raton, FL.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday March 1, 2024 from Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, 110 North Second Street St. Clair, PA 17970. The Rev. Msgr. William F. Glosser will be officiating. . Friends may call from Noon- 1:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Clare of Assisi Memorial Fund, 250 E. Hancock St., St. Clair, PA 17970. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, East Norwegian Twp.

Geraldine M. Mortensen, 75, Girardville passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, February 29th.

Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital, Shenandoah, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Valare (Cosluskie) Padamonsky.

Geraldine was a graduate of North Schuylkill High School and went on to obtain her nursing degree as a LPN. She spent her nursing career working at the former Ashland State Hospital and the Mahanoy State Correctional Institution until her retirement.

She was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, Girardville.

She enjoyed times spent at the beach with her family, going to the casino and enjoyed baking. She was known for her famous crab cakes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving son, Sgt. Christopher M. Mortensen, who passed away in December of 2021.

She leaves behind her sisters Valarie Padamonsky, Rosemary Mogish, and Barbara Rentschler; her brother Robert Padamonsky; her daughter-in-law, Alicia Mortensen; her grandson, Colin Mortensen; several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial and Interment will be private.

William J. Mack, Jr., age 86, of Port Carbon, PA passed away Monday, February 26th, 2024 at his home.

Born in New Philadelphia, PA on August 9, 1937, he was the son of the late William John and Helen (Grayouskie) Mack.

Bill was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School, Class of 1955. He served for two years in the U.S. Army from 1960 till 1962. Bill first worked at Van Heusen and then as a Computer Operator for Exide Battery in Reading for 38 years until retiring in 2002. He was a member of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church in New Philadelphia. Bill was an avid sports fan, who loved the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mary Lou (Barnes) Mack, who died on March 30, 2014 and three sisters: Marie Newhard, Connie Homovich, and Patricia Palko.

Bill is survived by his daughter Lisa A. Munsch and her husband John, Coopersburg, PA; two granddaughters: Hannah and Ava; a sister Anna Witkowski, NC; and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, New Philadelphia at 10:30AM on Saturday, March 2nd, with Msgr. William Glosser officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Saturday morning from 8:30-10AM at Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home in Port Carbon.

Interment with Military Honors will be held at St. Stephen Cemetery in Port Carbon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the March of Dimes.

Dorian P. Freed
, 76, of Locustdale, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, with family by her side. Born in Baltimore Maryland, July 27, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy Renninger Brocious. She was a graduate of the former Mahanoy City High School, class of 1965, and was employed as a sewing machine operator for the Ashland Shirt Factory, and later with the Helping Hands Thrift Store, Ashland, until her retirement. Dorian was a member of the Lavelle Church of the Nazarene, Fairgrounds Road, Lavelle.

Six Grandchildren, 4 Great grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Dorian’s Life funeral service, 11AM, Monday, March 4, 2024, in the Lavelle Church of the Nazarene, 2879 Fairgrounds Road, Lavelle. A viewing will begin in the church at 10 AM until the service. Officiating will be Rev. Jeremy Smallwood, pastor. The family requests memorials be made to the Lavelle Church of the Nazarene, P.O. Box 404, Lavelle, PA 17943.
