Federal Inmate at FCI Schuylkill Sentenced for Prison Contraband Possession

A Federal inmate held at FCI Schuylkill in Butler Township, has been sentenced to 27 months in prison for possession of contraband within the prison premises.
The sentencing was delivered by United States District Court Judge Malachy E. Mannion.

The announcement came from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, represented by United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam.

According to Karam, the incident dates back to November 2022 when a correctional officer at FCI Schuylkill spotted 23-year-old Xyvaion Lawrence in possession of a 6-inch homemade knife, commonly known as a "shank," concealed in the waistband of his pants.

The case was investigated by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Special Investigative Services of the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
