Beverly L. Zimmerman, 79, of Pine Grove, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, March 20, 2024 in Providence Place, Pine Grove with her family by her side.

She was the wife of the late Richard E. Zimmerman, Sr., who she married on February 16, 1963.

Born on November 16, 1944 in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Clair and Margaret McCaughey Morgan.

Beverly was a 1962 graduate of Tremont High School.

She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove, where she served as organist and junior choir director for many years until her retirement in 2013, and Grace Free Church, Cressona.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her dearly loved grandson, Brandon Zimmerman.

Surviving are three sons, Richard Jr, husband of Rhonda (Rhen) of Royersford, PA, Steven, husband of Karen (Morris) of Martinsburg, WV, and Scott, husband of Cindy (Krammes) of Pine Grove, PA; four granddaughters, Morgan Zimmerman, Emily Zimmerman, Madison Zimmerman, and Mya Zimmerman; two grandsons, Erik Zimmerman and Jacob Zimmerman; two brothers, Clair Morgan of Richmond, VA and Roger Morgan of Wallingford, PA; nieces and nephews.

While most of her early adult life was focused on raising her sons, she also worked at The Press Herald as a writer, and later at TGW Corp. as a bookkeeper.

Throughout her life, Beverly loved serving her community in a number of ways. She was a member of the Pine Grove Bicentennial Committee and the Pine Grove H. H. & L. Fire Co. No. 1 Ladies Auxiliary. She also supported her son's activities through the Pine Grove Area High School Band Boosters, Boy Scout Troop 111, and the Camp Pine Grove Association.

Beverly also loved music and began playing the organ at various churches in Tremont and Donaldson during high school. Throughout her life, she played the organ, piano, and clarinet and was a member of several local community bands. She also taught piano lessons for many years in Pine Grove and Tremont.

She also loved to sew and knit, and if she wasn't playing music, she could be seen with knitting needles in her hand.

Beverly also enjoyed many fall Saturdays in Happy Valley tailgating with family and cheering for the Penn State Nittany Lions, though we admit she probably enjoyed watching and listening to the Penn State Blue Band more.

But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She made many trips to watch her grandchildren's school and church events, dance recitals, baton competitions, band concerts, and more, and she loved being an active part of their lives.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. from the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove, with Pastor Joshua Ott of Grace Free Church, Cressona officiating.
