Bernard “Bernie” Hasara, 76 of Mahanoy City passed away March 6, 2024 at St. Lukes Miners, Coaldale.

Bernie was born December 27, 1947. He was a 1965 graduate of Mahanoy Area high School. One week after graduating Bernie enlisted in the US Air Force. He served three and a half years including a voluntary 1 year tour of Vietnam from December 1966 to December 1967 where he was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal.

Bernie worked in a home remodeling business and a rock drilling and blasting business. He was a member of the American Legion and very much enjoyed shooting darts in the league. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sports games.

He was preceded in death by his wife Linda (Weber) in 2012 and his youngest son Colin in 2018, and a sister Debbie.

He is survived by his companion Julie Butchko, his 4 sons Sean and his wife Nancy, Beech Mountain, Christopher and his wife Jessica , Montgomery Village MD, Brendon, Mahanoy City, Ryan, Mahanoy City, and his daughter in law Melissa Patrick Park Place.

Also survived by 7 Grandchildren Nathaniel, Corey, Kianna, Justin, Tiffany, Colin Jr., and Carley

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Richards Church in Barnesville Tuesday March 12, 2024, at 11AM.

Family and friends may call from 9:30 to 11AM at the Church.

Joseph T. Macalush
, beloved husband, father, pop, 87 years of age, of West Broad Street Tamaqua, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial in Coaldale.
Born May 19, 1936 in Coaldale the son of the late Benjamin, and Anna (Horas) Macalush. Joe was also predeceased by; sisters, Anna Mae Herring, Pauline Hager; brothers, John, and James Macalush.

Surviving; are his wife of 62 years, Anne C. (Edmonds) Macalush; daughter: Nicole Machay; sons, Todd Macalush and his wife Lisa, Darin Macalush and his wife Amy all of Tamaqua; grandchildren whom he adored, Abigail, and Ian Machay, Haley Macalush. Many nieces and nephews also survive Joe.

A 1954 graduate of the former Coaldale High School, Joe served honorably in the National Guard. He retired from Mack Truck in the Macungie plant and then worked for the Tamaqua Area School District. Joe so enjoyed talking and socializing with his friends in Tamaqua. He used his gift of gab by volunteering as a driver assisting Disabled Veteran or meandering the isles of Boyer's. A longtime member of the American Hose Fire Company, Joe was an avid Penn State Football fan, and ardent supporter of Tamaqua High School athletics.

Joe belonged to the Primitive Methodist Church of Tamaqua, having served on the board of Trustees.

Timothy L. Snyder, 55, of Orwigsburg, passed away Tuesday, March 5th, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Tim was born in Allentown on September 5, 1968, a son of Jean Alice (Schmick), of Germansville, PA and the late Donald Earl Snyder. He was the husband of Crystal (Waltman) Snyder.

Tim graduated from Northwestern Lehigh in 1987. He served in the PA Air National Guard 201st Red Horse/United States Air Force. He attended Kimmel's Church and worked at East Penn Manufacturing.

In addition to his wife, Crystal, Tim is survived by his daughter, Natalie Snyder;
three sisters, Pam, wife of Jerry Van Luvanee, Eileen, wife of Dwayne Reinert and Sharon Haberern as well as his brother, Bruce, husband of Denise Snyder.

He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews.

A Religious Service will be held on Saturday, March 23rd at 3:00 PM, at Kimmels Evangelical Free Church in Orwigsburg, with Rev. Preston Broadhurst officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kimmels Evangelical Free Church 179 Pine Creek Drive Orwigsburg, PA 17961; Orwigsburg VFW Post # 2198, Orwigsburg or the Miller Keystone Blood bank.

Bernice Corrine Wolfmeyer McCormick
passed into eternal life peacefully on Monday, March 4, 2024 at the Home of Her Daughter, Julie O'Connor surrounded by Family.

Born on January 10, 1925 daughter of late George W. & Elvira J (Cook) Wolfmeyer in St. LOUIS, MO. Baptized February 15, 1925 at Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, St. Louis, MO.

She attended school through the eighth grade; Loved singing in the choir & enjoyed playing softball; worked at the American Wine Compay, known for Cook's Imperial Champagne in St. Louis, MO. While visiting relatives in Kentucky she met the Love of her Life, after 2 dates they were married 3 Months later on November 27, 1943 in St. Louis before Dad left for Germany during WWII. After his return from the war they settled in Philadelphia PA, Dad’s Hometown for 60 years, devoting her life to her family.

Mom was a member of St. Gabriel’s Church, South Philadelphia; before moving to Minersville, PA where she is a member of Holy Family Church. Mom is a Proud Member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution for the past 3 years as she is a descendant of an American Revolution Patriot, Francois Marechal, who served at The Battle of St. Louis in 1780.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. in 2003. Brothers Charles, George, Edward, James, Kenneth, Anthony, Donald.

Her Sister Theresa McSherry.

Jason Stokes will be officiating. Friends may call from 11:00AM-12:30PM at the Donald J Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St, Minersville, PA 17954.

Internment will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 9. 2024 in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Sproul Road, Springfield, PA.
