Shenandoah Valley High School Senior Restores "Breaker Boy" Statue

Jacob Coolbaugh, a senior at Shenandoah Valley High School, is giving back to his community through a restoration project alongside his Art teacher, Mrs. Jennifer Zemek. 

The duo has been working on restoring a statue of a breaker boy that once stood in the window display of the Catizone barber shop, belonging to John Catizone of Shenandoah.

The statue had suffered damage over time and was in dire need of repair. 

Jacob Coolbaugh, who also holds the position of president at the Shenandoah Valley National Arts Society, took charge of the restoration efforts. Coolbaugh successfully refurbished the figure to its former glory.

The restoration of the breaker boy statue is just one of several projects lined up by the Shenandoah Valley National Arts Society.
