Firefighters and forest units battled a large brush fire near McAdoo on Friday.
At 2:23pm, Friday afternoon, McAdoo Fire Chief Robert Leshko called in a brush fire along Tresckow Road in Kline Township in the area of St. Patrick's Cemetery.
As Chief Leshko surveyed the incident, additional brush units from Schuylkill County as well as DCNR Forestry units were dispatched to the scene.
For several hours, firefighters worked to contain the fire that spread over approximately 12 acres of brush land.
A brush plane was also dispatched from the Hazleton area that dropped 8 loads of water from above onto the fire.
By 6:30pm, all units had cleared the scene.
