Dustin’s Adventureland Receives $5,000 Boost for Inclusive Playground in Palo Alto

A recent $5,000 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving, powered by Pace-O-Matic, is bringing Dustin’s Adventureland one step closer to transforming the Bacon Street Playground into an inclusive haven for children of all abilities.

The donation will support Dustin’s Adventureland’s new initiative, Adventureland Access for All, which aims to bring inclusive playground equipment to community parks throughout Schuylkill County. The funds will go directly toward the purchase of accessible equipment at Bacon Street Playground in Palo Alto Borough.

“We are so pleased to provide this great organization with a donation,” said Jeanna Bouzek, chair of Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. “Giving back has always been a top priority for Pennsylvania Skill, and we pledge to support groups like this that do good work in their communities.”

Founded in 2020, Dustin’s Adventureland made history in 2022 by opening the first-ever all-inclusive playground in Schuylkill County at the Minersville Recreation Complex, a $510,000 project. Now, through its Access for All initiative, the organization is partnering with municipalities to help raise funds and awareness for more accessible play spaces across the county.

“We are extremely grateful to be chosen by Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving for their generous donation towards the Bacon St Improvement Project,” said Jeffrey Dunkel, President of Dustin’s Adventureland. “We are in the homestretch of fundraising for this project and it takes great groups like this to make it possible to raise nearly $90,000 for this project.”

Angela LaSelva, President of Palo Alto’s Recreation Committee, expressed her gratitude for the community support. “Thank you Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving for your generous donation! Palo Alto Borough is incredibly honored and humbled by the outpouring of support for this project. We can’t wait to share this fun addition with our community and neighbors!”

As of now, the Bacon Street Playground upgrade has raised $65,201 toward its $88,000 goal. Community members looking to support the cause can find more information and donation options on Dustin’s Adventureland’s Facebook page.
