Frackville Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred Friday evening involving a motorcycle and a sedan.
At approximately 5:08 p.m. on May 2, 2025, emergency personnel were dispatched to the 500 block of West Oak Street for multiple reports of a collision. According to witnesses at the scene, a red or maroon-colored sedan struck the rear of a motorcycle carrying two occupants, causing the bike to flip onto its side.
Following the impact, the vehicle reportedly continued into the Boyer's Food Market parking lot before fleeing the area.
Both individuals on the motorcycle were transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pottsville. The passenger sustained serious injuries and was later transferred to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, where the passenger tragically succumbed to their injuries.
The identity of the victims was not released by police.
Frackville Police were assisted on the scene by Frackville and Shenandoah EMS, Frackville Fire Department, and Steve’s Towing.

UPDATE: According to Frackville Police, as of 8:00pm, Saturday, the person who fled is in custody. Their identity has not been released as of this posting.
