A McAdoo woman is facing multiple charges after police say she smeared feces inside and outside of a Magisterial District Judge’s office near Frackville, leaving behind more than $1,500 in cleanup costs.
According to court papers filed by Butler Township Police, Shirl Annette Moody, 60, of McAdoo, has been charged with institutional vandalism of an educational facility (M2), criminal mischief (M2), disorderly conduct (S), and scattering rubbish (S). The charges stem from an incident on August 20, 2025, at District Court 21-2-01, located at 619 West Oak Street, Frackville.
Police were contacted by Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli, who reported that feces had been found both in the lobby and on the exterior of the building shortly after Moody left the office.
An affidavit of probable cause states that surveillance footage shows Moody arriving at the court office, lifting the back of her dress while outside, and then going into the restroom. Soon after, feces was discovered on the siding of the building, on the lobby floor, and on the wall near the restroom.
Police say there were no attempts to clean the mess before it was discovered. Cleanup was handled by Servpro Biohazard Remediation at a cost of $1,506.27, according to an invoice provided to investigators.
Moody was identified by staff because she had also spoken to them about an unrelated matter during her visit.
Her case will be heard by Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker in Shenandoah.
According to online court records, Moody had been at the office that day to make a payment on a fine related to an unlicensed person to operate a vehicle offense.
