Born in Connerton, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Sucavage) McAndrew. She was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of the Treasury in Harrisburg and was the owner/operator of the former McDonald’s Lunch in Girardville until her retirement.
She was a member of the former St. Joseph’s Church, Girardville, now St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Ashland.
Eleanor’s life was filled with all the things she loved the most including her beloved family, her precious granddaughter Jaclyn, her furry friends Jax and Thor, the magnificent rolling mountains that greeted her each morning and her beautiful flowers that she took pride in each season. She had a passion for reading, going on cruises and traveling to her favorite vacation spot in Naples FL.
As a woman of faith, we celebrate our dear mother, grandmother, aunt and friend as she receives her eternal reward. Eleanor’s life was truly a gift to those who knew her and while she will be truly and deeply missed, we know that heaven takes the best flowers for their garden, and our beloved Eleanor was God’s greatest pick.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John “Jackie” McDonald; her three sisters: Anna Mae Gownley, Rita Ketusky and Dorothy Kozel; also by her brother, Bernard McAndrew.
Eleanor is survived by her daughters: Mary Ann and her husband Tom Kowalonek; Maureen and her husband Arthur Barnes, both of Auburn: her granddaughter Jaclyn Kowalonek, Orwigsburg and by nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, 501 Washington Street, Frackville. Family and friends are invited to her viewing on Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Josephs Cemetery, Ft. Springs.

Grace E. Palina, 78, of Frackville passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, October 3rd surrounding by her loving family.
