She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church, Ashland and was the founder of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ashland American Hose Company.
Ruth Ann had a remarkable gift for music—she could play the piano beautifully by ear, filling her home with melodies that brought joy to everyone around her. She also loved the excitement of visiting the casinos in Atlantic City, where she enjoyed the atmosphere and the thrill of the slot machines.
A devoted fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Ruth Ann rarely missed a game and cheered with great enthusiasm through each season. Above all, she will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister whose love, laughter, and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward O’Donnell; her son, Shawn O’Donnell and her grandson, Edward O’Donnell III.

A special thank you to her dedicated and loving caregivers, Kristen, Josh, Bobby and Melissa for the kindness, patience, and compassion you’ve shown her. You’ve made this difficult time a little easier for her—and for all of us. We’ll always be grateful for the care you’ve given.
