Cynthia Jo Palenik, 58, of Schuylkill Haven, formerly of Mar Lin, passed away October 5, 2025 surrounded by her family.
Born in Pottsville December 10, 1966, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Jr. and Elizabeth L (Duffy) Palenik.
She grew up in Mar Lin, attended Pottsville Area Schools, going on to work at Palermo’s Restaurant and for the PLCB from 2017-2018. She enjoyed baking and cooking, even venturing into business with “Confections by Cindy”. She enjoyed traveling with her parents, continuing the tradition with her daughter Jolana.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Roberta in 1961.
Surviving are her daughter Jolana Palenik of Schuylkill Haven; sister Jody Stewart of FL; Nieces and Nephews; Beloved dog Faye. Many cousins and Friends.
Services will be announced at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Dutcavich Funeral Home & Cremation Care 200 Sunbury St. Minersville, PA 17954 to defray funeral costs. Burial will be in Mt. Peace Cemetery.

Ruth Ann F. O’Donnell, 84, Frackville and former Ashland resident, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 7th surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Ashland, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Ruth (Ney) Aaron. She worked as a secretary in the nursing department for the former Ashland State Hospital until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church, Ashland and was the founder of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ashland American Hose Company.
Ruth Ann had a remarkable gift for music—she could play the piano beautifully by ear, filling her home with melodies that brought joy to everyone around her. She also loved the excitement of visiting the casinos in Atlantic City, where she enjoyed the atmosphere and the thrill of the slot machines.
A devoted fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Ruth Ann rarely missed a game and cheered with great enthusiasm through each season. Above all, she will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister whose love, laughter, and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward O’Donnell; her son, Shawn O’Donnell and her grandson, Edward O’Donnell III.
Ruth Ann is survived by her daughter Lisa Tregembo and her husband Kenneth; her two sons: Edward O’Donnell Jr. and James O’Donnell; her sister, Janette Freiler; her grandchildren: Kayla, Scott (Katie), Shawn Patrick, Caitlin, Jessica (Joe); her great-grandchildren: Kiria, Emily, Maxwell, Jeffrey, Jena Lee, Carlie, Kayliegh, Alayna, Madison, and Ethan; also by nieces and nephews;
A special thank you to her dedicated and loving caregivers, Kristen, Josh, Bobby and Melissa for the kindness, patience, and compassion you’ve shown her. You’ve made this difficult time a little easier for her—and for all of us. We’ll always be grateful for the care you’ve given.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 21st at 11 a.m. from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington Street, Frackville. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Ft. Springs.

Bryon D. Gliem, 70, of Pottsville, died Wednesday October 1, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Health Network – Cedar Crest, Allentown.
Born in Pottsville, December 29, 1954, He was a son of the late Walter and Audrey (Schaeffer) Gliem.
He has an Associate Degree from Penn State University.
He retired from sales having worked at Zales Jewelry and Adelphia Seafood in, Pottsville.
Bryon was a member of First United Church of Christ, Pottsville, a PIAA soccer referee and a member Pottsville Pride.
He was preceded in death by brother Walter Glib.
Surviving are a sister Gail Labarbera of Myerstown: brother Jeff Gliem and his wife Annette of Pottsville; sister-in-law Janet Gliem of Biglersville, nieces and nephews.
Private Services will be held at convenience of family.

Sandra "Sandy" Skobel, 78, of Orwigsburg, passed away Tuesday, October 7th, at her home with her family by her side.
Sandy was born in Shenandoah on October 4, 1947, daughter of the late Lottie (Marchefsky) Jablonski and Frank Jablonski.
She was the loving wife of Robert "Bob" M. Skobel. They were married on October 4th, 1969.
Sandy graduated from Shenandoah Catholic High School class of 1965. She received her nursing degree from Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing, following in the footsteps of her mother and aunt, who graduated from the same nursing school. She dedicated her life to taking care of others, as a Registered Nurse & also as a friend, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.
Sandy graduated from Shenandoah Catholic High School class of 1965. She received her nursing degree from Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing, following in the footsteps of her mother and aunt, who graduated from the same nursing school. She dedicated her life to taking care of others, as a Registered Nurse & also as a friend, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.
Sandy was an avid reader and shared this passion with her daughter. Together they founded a book club that has gathered for over a decade, sharing more than 100 books with a remarkable group of women. She was a loyal Yankees baseball fan and rarely missed a Penn State football game. She loved family vacations and traveling. She especially cherished her 50th Anniversary trip with Bob to Paris, France. She loved theatre and music, attending countless concerts and Broadway shows.
Sandy was a proud Grandma, who treasured spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to entertain and cook for her family and friends. Celebrations and holidays were always special; her recipes and thoughtful meals were a true expression of her love.
Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Bob Skobel, her daughter, Michelle, wife of Adam Taylor and her son, Brian Skobel, husband of Lenore; grandchildren Noah Taylor, Briel Skobel and Emaline Skobel.
She was predeceased by her brother Frank Jablonski, Jr.
A religious service to celebrate Sandy's life will be held on Tuesday evening, October 14th at 6:00 PM, with Rev. Thomas Osei Gyua officiating at the Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home, Inc., 116 S. Liberty St. Orwigsurg. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM until time of service. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Orwigsburg Area Free Public Library, 216 West Independence Street Orwigsburg, PA 17961.

Judy A. Shutt, 72, of Tower City, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, October 4, 2025 at her home.
Born in Lykens on Monday, August 31, 1953, a daughter of the late Clarence Shutt and Betty Salada Morris.
She was retired from Huntzinger's Potato Farm.
Judy was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City, where she was always willing to help out wherever was needed.
She was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. Judy could often be found doing crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion, Robert Klouser; two brothers, Edward Shutt and Terry Morris; a sister, Sally Shutt May.
Surviving are her three brothers, Warren Morris, Jr. (Val), Kevin Shutt (Lori), and Robert Morris (Michelle), all of Tower City; her sister, Nancy Smith (Ronnie), Hegins; numerous nieces and nephews.
Following Judy's wishes there will be no formal services.
