Peter Weremedic, 90, a lifelong Frackville resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 31st.Born in Frackville, he was a son of the late Paul and Anna Weremedic. Pete was a mailman for the United States Postal Service in Frackville.
Pete was a man of great faith and a devout parishioner of Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, Frackville.
He was a veteran having served in the United States Marine Corp., a life member of the Frackville American Legion Post 398 and was a member of the Goodwill Hose Co., Frackville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Marie (Sagan) Weremedic; his brothers: Nicholas, Michael and John Weremedic; his sister: Mary Lombardi.
Pete is survived by his three sons: Michael and his wife Roseanne Weremedic, Frackville; Peter Weremedic, Frackville; Very Reverend James Weremedic, rector of St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, Coaldale and his wife Mat. Lisa Weremedic; his grandchildren: Elizabeth (John) Wittig, Michael (Amanda) Weremedic, Sub-Deacon James Weremedic and Victoria Weremedic; his great-grandchildren: Madeline and Sophia Wittig, and Nicholas and Noah Weremedic; also many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 6th at 10 a.m. from Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, Frackville with Rev. Kirill Zawatski, rector.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville on Wednesday, November 5th from 6 to 8 p.m. with parastas beginning at 7 p.m. An additional viewing will be held on Thursday morning at Holy Ascension Orthodox Church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held in Holy Ascension Orthodox Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made, in Pete’s name, to the Holy Ascension Orthodox Church at 209 S. Lehigh Ave., Frackville, PA 17931.

Krista M. Smith, 53, of Cressona passed away at her home on October 28th 2025.
Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Herman L. Moyer and Barbara Richards Moyer.
Krista was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven Area High School. She would then attend McCann School of Business for her Bachelors in 1992. Later, receiving her Master’s degree from Temple University for Social Work in 2008.
She enjoyed the fall season the most, cheering so hard for Penn State football even popping blood vessels some years. She would frequent fairgrounds for different festivals and events, often hunting for new Gnomes to guard the house.
In addition to her father, Krista was preceded in death by her sister Kelly Fekette.
In addition to her mother, Krista is survived by her two sons; Owen and Avery Smith, both of Cressona.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven, at 2:00 P.M. Family and friends are welcome from 12:00 until the time of services. Interment will follow on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
Valarie “Val” A. Schreck, 73, formerly of Ashland has passed away on October 27, 2025 at her home in Cockeysville MD.
Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home Inc, 901 Centre St, Ashland PA 17921 have been entrusted with the arrangements.
