He was born on Friday, May 19, 1944, in Pitman, a son of the late Leon C Specht and the late Anna M (Fetterolf) Specht.
He was a 1962 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and a graduate of Williamsport Area Community College.
Jack served in the US Army 82nd Airborne during the Vietnam War.
He was a welding supervisor for CBI, Chicago IL prior to his retirement.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View.
He was also a member of American Legion 575, the Hegins Park Association, and Tri-Valley Lions Club. He was a former driver for the Hegins Area Ambulance Association.
Jack was an avid beekeeper and was know for his local honey.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Franklin L Specht.
He is survived by his wife Yvonne D. (Klouser) Specht, to whom he was married for 54 years.
He is also survived by two daughters, Shannon L Melideo of Kissimmee FL and Somer A (Pryce) Parker of Myerstown; a son, Shane L (Ann) Specht of Brentwood, TN; eight grandchildren; a great grandson; a niece and a nephew.
Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Lee Diefenderfer officiating.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday at the church.
Private burial with Military Honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Inc., Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
