Born in McAdoo, he was the son of the Late Peter and Helen (Bobeck) Rick and of the Roman Catholic faith.
Leonard was a proud U.S. Navy veteran. He was also a member of the McAdoo Fire Co.
Prior to retiring, he was employed at Mack Truck of Allentown and Macungie for over 30 years.
Leonard loved the outdoors and animals, especially his dog, Max. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cheering on Penn State, and going to Phillies games with his sons. He also treasured the time he spent on family vacations and playing cards with his friends at the Kelayres Rod and Gun Club.
Preceding him in death was his brother, Joseph Rick.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Jean (Frantz) Rick; sons, Leonard Rick and fiancée, Lesley Bobiak of Philadelphia; Donald Rick and wife, Deb of New Jersey; Bill Thompson and fiancée, Jackie of Womelsdorf; Brian Thompson and wife, Cindy of Florida; and David Thompson and wife, Michele of Emmaus; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred “Tootsie” Polak of Bethlehem; and nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Springtime.
The Damiano Funeral Home Inc., McAdoo, is assisting the family.
