Joan Elaine Taylor, 91, formerly of Minersville, passed away peacefully Tuesday December 23, 2025 at Edenbrook at Greenwood Hill.

Born in Minersville, June 23 1934 she was a daughter of the late George and Olive (Brennan) Allen.

She worked as a Machine operator at Hemlock Garment and Argo Mills and was a member of ILGWU

She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Minersville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Donald R. “Ducky” Taylor on June 15, 1983. 3 sisters Violet Paul, Olive Woodford and Janet Zvorsky; Son-in-law John Slish.

Surviving are a daughter Lodean Slish of Forestville; Son William Taylor and his wife Cindy of Minersville; Granson Raydell “Ray” Taylor of Schuylkill Haven. Sister Georgine Weir of Pottsville; Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday December 30, 2025 at Dutcavich Funeral Home & Cremation Care Inc. 200 Sunbury St. Minersville, PA 17954 with Rev. Brian Beissel Officiating. Friends may visit from 10:00-11:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund PO Box 148 Minersville, PA 17954. Burial will be at Mt. Peace Cemetery, Minersville.

Diane June Gettis, 77, of Pottsville, formerly of Minersville, passed away peacefully Saturday December 20, 2025 at Edenbrook at Greenwood Hill, Pottsville.

Born in Shoentown January 4, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Jeannette (Gettis) Hamm.

After attending Port Carbon Schools, Diane went on to work as a candy striper, and a machine operator at Walk-in Shoe Factory, Argo Mills and Alpha Mills.

She enjoyed swimming and going for walks. Diane had exceptional taste in Philadelphia sports teams especially the Eagles and Flyers and in music Guns N Roses, Poison, Aerosmith, Metallica and more.

In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her husbands James Strenkoski and Nicholas Hutnyan; step Father William Hamm; Brothers William Hamm and Edward Hamm.

Surviving are her Daughters Beverly Ann Wendling of Pottsville; Deborah Weiss; Brother Robert Hamm; Sister Victoria Milillo; Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Dutcavich Funeral Home & Cremation Care Inc. 200 Sunbury St. Minersville, PA 17954 to defray funeral costs.
