Hosted by the Schuylkill Chapter No. 25 of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame, this year’s banquet marked the 65th anniversary of the Scholar Athlete program.
Each Schuylkill County school district nominated one student-athlete based on outstanding football performance, academic achievement, and exemplary leadership and citizenship within their school community.
The banquet brought together football coaches, school administrators, honorees, and their families for an evening of recognition and inspiration. Continuing a meaningful tradition, each head football coach was accompanied by a ninth-grade player from their program. The gesture serves to motivate younger athletes and provide them with a tangible example of what dedication, hard work, and leadership can accomplish.
The highlight of the evening was the announcement of this year’s overall honoree. Congratulations to Luke Frohnheiser of Tamaqua Area High School, who was named the 2026 Schuylkill County Football Scholar-Athlete.
The athletes honored from each school were as follows:
- Dylan Foose - Blue Mountain
- Kyler Quick - Mahanoy Area
- Jah Bushati - Marian Catholic
- Matt Dube - Minersville Area
- Colt Mason - Nativity BVM
- Cadyn McGraw - North Schuylkill
