Jean C. Hoover
, 84, of Cressona, passed away Tuesday, April 14th, at home surrounded by her family.

Jean was born in Reading, PA on September 14, 1941, a daughter of the late Allen C. & Catherine L. (Scanlan) Wolfe.

Married nearly 65 years, she was the loving wife of Bruce M. Hoover.

Jean was a 1959 graduate of Pine Grove High School, and also graduated from Central Penn Business School, Harrisburg.

She lived her faith through her longtime commitment to the congregation of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Cressona. She served as a member of Consistory and participated in lay fellowship.

Jean worked as a secretary at Indiantown Gap, and the Blue Mountain High School cafeteria.

In addition to her husband, Jean is also survived by three daughters: Valerie J. Wessner, Cressona, Eleanor Madigan, Towanda, & Catherine Woleschok, wife of Robert, Cressona, grandchildren: Jessica Knox (Matthew), Nicole Cook (Thomas), Morgan Madigan, Danae Madigan, Jacqueline Woleschok (Jaime Avalos) Cassandra Phillips (Sean), Jacob Woleschok, & Elizabeth Woleschok, great-grandchildren: McKinley, Waylan, Cameron, Mia, Samuel, Emerson, Milo, & Sean, Jr., and her sister, Barbara Huntzinger, wife of Carl, Pine Grove.

In addition to her parents, Jean is also preceded in death by her grandson, Wade Vaughn Wessner (Rebecca).

She was a devoted wife, Mom, Nan, & Great-Nanny. Nothing brought her more happiness than a full house of family and a crowded dinner table. Jean’s life was a testament of love for her children and grandchildren as she never missed any of their events. She loved tending to her garden and was known for singing and whistling any tune.

Jean was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Orwigsburg Chapter #424 where she served every officer position multiple times over the years, including Worthy Matron.

Jean was a Cressona softball coach and a member of the Cressona Historical Society.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 24th at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona with Jennie Strauch officiating. A Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cressona Cemetery.

The family prefers remembrances in the form of contributions to Amedisys Hospice 3897 Adler Place, Building C, Suite 180 Bethlehem, PA 18017.

Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona, has been entrusted with arrangements.

Dennis L. Laul
, age 77, of Tamaqua, peacefully passed away on April 15, 2026, at Seton Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was the beloved husband of Valerie A. (Kalis) Laul, with whom he shared 39 years of marriage.

Born on May 11, 1948, in Sayville, New York, Dennis was the cherished son of the late May (Rosinski) Laul. His life was marked by dedicated service to his country as a proud veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict, a testament to his courage and commitment.

Dennis built a career as a copier technician with Davis Business Machine, where he was respected for his skill and professionalism. Beyond his work, he was a man of faith, a devoted Catholic, and an active member of St. John the XXIII in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.

A passionate photographer, Dennis found joy in capturing moments and preserving memories through his lens, a creative outlet that enriched his life and allowed him to share his perspective with those around him.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Valerie A. Laul; his sons Tony Stilitino of Tamaqua, Christopher Stilitino of Summit Hill, and Eric Stilitino, husband of Stacey, of Pittston. He was also a proud grandfather to Jesse, Mercedes, Rayna, Vincent, Logan, Brandon, and Collin. Dennis will be fondly remembered by his sister Rosie McClarin of Florida.

Dennis was preceded in death by his sister Joann.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family, with burial to follow at Indiantown Gap Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.

Linda Lorah
, 79, of Mahanoy City, passed away on April 11, 2026, in Allentown. She was the wife of the late John Lorah, to whom she had been married for two years at the time of his passing in 2011.

Born in Pottsville, Linda was a daughter of the late Vincent Montag and Hazel (Gehrig Sterner) Montag Sleva. She was a 1964 graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and was employed for many years as a nurses’ aide at Coaldale State Hospital and St. Luke’s Miners Memorial Hospital.

Linda is survived by two sons, Richard Trexler and his wife, Edralyn, of Lehighton, and Lewis Trexler, III., of Hazleton; one daughter, Nicole Kmetz and her husband, Joseph, of Tamaqua; one brother, Rick Montag, of Schuylkill Haven; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Linda’s name may be made to The Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 North 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123.
