Port Carbon Celebrates Schuylkill County’s Longest-Running Fourth of July Tradition

Port Carbon continued one of Schuylkill County’s most historic Independence Day traditions on Saturday with the borough’s annual Fourth of July Parade.

The streets were lined with spectators as local organizations, fire companies, businesses, elected officials, and community members took part in the celebration. The parade continued a tradition that dates back to 1947 and remains a summer highlight for generations of families.

This year’s celebration carried extra meaning as the community joined the nation in recognizing America’s 250th anniversary, showcasing patriotism, hometown pride, and the strong community spirit that has kept Port Carbon’s Fourth of July tradition alive for nearly eight decades.
